NS has her eye on the election next year and wants to be seen as the saviour of Scotland.

She will keep doing the bare minimum or the opposite of Westminster knowing full well none of it makes the slightest bit of difference as the whole thing has been a massive overreaction.

Iggi999 · 21/05/2020 10:15

Anyone know what time or channel this is on today, I have real problems finding it for some reason.

titsbumfannythelot · 21/05/2020 10:24

I've just read it's on at 12.30, will be on BBC Scotland

Iggi999 · 21/05/2020 10:26

Thanks so much Smile

Iggi999 · 21/05/2020 12:56

Well, what do people think?

Kmxxx14 · 21/05/2020 13:03

I’m gutted about the schools. My children are really struggling now.

Haribolover · 21/05/2020 13:06

Schools I knew was coming although sad about it about as DD really needs to go back.
Any news on nurseries as that would really help us to get the younger one back.

nuttymomma · 21/05/2020 13:08

It's pretty much what Boris said, isn't it?

My DD thinks she's allowed to go out and see her friends now cause Nicola said 1 person outside your household. I think DD is wrong and its really adults it applies to. DD is 12 and I don't trust her to socially distance.

As for schools going back in August part time, I'm not sure if I'd be allowed to work from home part time...

As for childminders reopening, that puts them and their own kids at risk (my mum used to be a CM and she says no way would she have wanted to restart work until there was a vaccine, even without the income)

Jodri · 21/05/2020 13:10

I need to read the Covid 19 route map but everyone else is obviously trying to access it online atm and I can’t get on.
I’ll try again later.

Astrid84 · 21/05/2020 13:17

@Jodri i cant even find it, help a lass out with the link? TY

Alittlewornout · 21/05/2020 13:20

I tried too @Jodri but couldn't load it. It is more or less what I expected and as a HCPI cannot wait to be able to provide a better service to patients. Phone calls just aren't the same.

Iggi999 · 21/05/2020 13:39

I want to read the full documents because, as with Boris' one, the devil is in the detail.
Tried getting onto government website and it crashed!

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 21/05/2020 13:49

My first reaction is that I’m gutted, in fact just been for a frustrated sob where the kids can’t see me. My son was in tears again this morning and I don’t know how much more of this he can bear, and there’s no hint of this ending any time soon. I’m now just really hoping that the holidays clubs and nurseries will be able to open soon (it wasn’t clear to me from the statement) so that our children can at least get out the house and see some friends and we can work a normal day instead of a 16 hr day. Doing homeschool a couple of days a week is just about manageable without a toddler underfoot but is utterly unrealistic otherwise. I’m lucky enough to be able to work from home.

Haribolover · 21/05/2020 14:17

The way I read it nurseries aren't back until August. I don't know how we will come until then with 2 at home.

Key workers continue to get car which is really eating at me. I get some have an important job but what about everyone else at breaking point and needing care to work. I watch people local to us as key workers dropping kids off for the day and spending it going out, gardening etc while we are working day and night to keep up with kids here.

I am broken....

Kmxxx14 · 21/05/2020 14:21

I feel the same. Feeling really upset now.

Noworrieshere · 21/05/2020 14:25

So on Thursday next week can I drive 80 miles to stand in a park 2 metres away from my mum? That will keep me going for now.

I was prepared for no school till August. And I think I knew deep down they wouldn't go back as normal then too. But it's really hard to hear. I have not been pushing mine all that hard on the schoolwork front but now I know home schooling is likely to continue in August I'll need to try harder.

WaxOnFeckOff · 21/05/2020 14:30

Noworries, nope, I think we are still supposed to stay local and walk or bike, same as for exercise? No use if you don't live near any family or friends. My current attitude, being quite a staunch in compliance thus far is fuck it. I've done everything that was asked while others have done what they like. I'm now going to broadly comply unless it makes no sense and if doesn't increase the risk to anyone else.

Keepmeawayfromthebuffet · 21/05/2020 14:32

@Noworrieshere if your mum has a garden you’ll be able to sit in garden, doesn’t have to be a park.

connellwaldron · 21/05/2020 14:37

No, you still need to stay local. I think that is 5 miles

Noworrieshere · 21/05/2020 14:39

My current attitude, being quite a staunch in compliance thus far is fuck it

Mine too. I'm going to drop a book in to a friend this afternoon and sit on her garden wall and have a cup of tea with her. I haven't done anything like that so far, we really have complied pretty strictly.

if your mum has a garden you’ll be able to sit in garden, doesn’t have to be a park

But can I drive to her garden, that's the question. How local is local? A bit of driving was ok for exercise I think. I guess more detail will come out this week. I guess we could each drive 40 miles and meet in a field,is that local enough?

I guess more detail will come out. A bit more waiting and seeing to go.

Noworrieshere · 21/05/2020 14:43

In addition, people will be able to travel - preferably by walking or cycling - for recreation, although they will be asked to remain "where possible" within or close to their own local area

From the BBC, it would not be possible for me to remain within my local area to see my mum. Is that a loophole?

Noworrieshere · 21/05/2020 14:46

And fucking garden centres. Honestly. I don't want to go to a fucking garden centre, I want to go to my mum's toilet.

pigoons · 21/05/2020 14:58

I don't get why they aren't doing more to open up healthcare. My DS desperately needs his 'routine' eye test which is not v routine when you have just started wearing glasses and are supposed to be seen every 3 months. We need to see a dentist - again not emergency but a potential issue.

And I despair at the concept of part time school / home learning blend? How is that feasible when we both work (non essential roles)? Doubt work will continue to be flexible and only option I can see is me dropping my hours or taking unpaid leave as my husband earns more.

I don't understand why i can't sit in my parents garden (unless I've missed something) when it is far less risky than sitting on a park bench. And don't give me the nonsense about going indoors at my parents - so what if I use their toilet - how is this more risky than sitting on a bench or having to resort to public conveniences?

And yet the priority is to be given to allowing people play golf and garden centres opening neither of which I give a fuck about, and do not see as essential.

I am just utterly depressed that no one is thinking of the things that affect women and children most

pigoons · 21/05/2020 14:59

Looks like I've missed the bit about being able to sit in someone's garden. Marvellous
