Yikes @Tinlegs
Who takes the blame if there is a problem & the risk assessment is considered to have been wrong?
Is it something your union would help with?

Hi all. Just bumping with an update for you. It's not great...

Scottish Government have done a U-turn and no longer endorse this controversial transgender school guidance. This guidance has been distributed across all Local Authorities, many of which presumably adopted it on the understanding it had full Government backing. t.co/OFee3o7zR5

The statement came as a result of threatened legal action over the guidance. The govt deny ever having endorsed it, saying it was an error of LGBT Scotland. The document has since been updated with the Govts logo removed. t.co/ysNm8i8OLm

The government say they are still supportive of it, so I'm not sure how much difference that makes. t.co/ZSXGMd4Ljm

LGBT Youth Scotland have recruited about 20 schools in Scotland so far. The first primary school was Downfield Primary in Dundee, and the project was heavily supported by Gregor Murray, the SNP councillor who recently resigned having called the 8 Lesbians who carried a 'Lesbians are Female Homosexuals' sign at London Pride 'Vile Cunts'. Gregor Murray also was criticised for calling women 'roasters' and criticised by the former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale as sexist.

This is Gregor Murray. I have avoided personal pronouns because I wish to follow Mumsnet's policy re 'misgendering. Gregor Murray self-describes as a 'non binary woman'

LGBT Youth Scotland are currently recruiting for project managers, youth digital officers and PR Managers.

They received £900,000 in funding from the Scottish Government in 2017. They are intending to roll out their 'LGBT Schools Charter' further across Scotland. This programme HAS NOT been endorsed by the Scottish Government.

Of particular concern is the 'Supporting Transgender' document that they claimed had been endorsed by the Scottish Government, only to admit it was an 'error' some 8 months later. See link:

www.lgbtyouth.org.uk/media/1344/supporting-transgender-young-people.pdf

This document actively acts against standard safeguarding in advising that in the case of young people who have confided in teachers re gender identity issues, this information should not be given to parents.

It also advises that there is no need for parents to be aware when their child is sharing accommodation with children of the opposite sex, who have gender identity issues. It also supports the use of breast binders for female children with gender identity issues.

Please read this document. It is important that parents are aware what is being taught to their children

The LGBT Schools charter is a trojan horse for the wholescale adoption of transgender ideology and plays on most decent parent's wish to have their children taught tolerance and diversity and the acceptance of LGBT issues, but who are not aware of the complexity or controversial issues surrounding transgender issues and the ideologies pushed by some.

Also, LGBT Youth have a 'Chat Line', which they are expanding with further recruitment of 'Digital Officers'. Given their approach to not sharing information with children's parents, it is of concern as to what advice is/will be given via these Chat lines, or indeed who LGBT Youth is accountable to in the giving of advice to young vulnerable people.

www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/3104261/furious-parents-renfrewshire-schools-gender-neutral-toilets/

Gender neutral toilets were installed in two East Renfrewshire schools, with no consultation with the parents. Apparently an impact assessment was conducted, but it must have been pretty poor, given the reaction of the pupils and parents.

This is going to happen more and more in schools, and loss of single sex spaces in changing room accomodation and sleeping accomodation will also happen, if the advice of LGBT Youth (above) is taken. It's really happening.

I don't see much of a problem with unisex toilets. That is a different issue entirely.
The swimming pool we go to for example has a communal changing room (since time began), and it is not a problem.

Why are boys having their urinals removed? Urinals are a good solution for boys and men to wee in, no? So how are toilet only cubicles an improvement for them?

I have a young primary aged boy who makes a complete mess if he tries to pee standing up into a toilet.
