Still Yes? Still No?

Almost a year after the referendum, I'm wondering if anyone regrets how they voted.

In the interests of transparency, I was a Yes voter, and would vote Yes again.

even with the oil price as it was before the fall, we'd still be £7-8bn in the red - every year....

it was £12bn at last figures - exactly the planned spend on the entire NHS in Scotland for next year.

Olddear · 07/09/2015 18:38

No then and a definite no still.

Meeeeeeep · 07/09/2015 18:46

Yes then and yes now.

OrionsAccessory · 07/09/2015 18:52

Yes then and still yes although I'm in no hurry for another referendum cos it was all horrible last time!

I know three people who have changed their mind.

Hadmeathello · 07/09/2015 18:54

No and hell no Grin

cdtaylornats · 07/09/2015 19:18

No, still no and always no. If there is another referendum I want an option to get rid of Holyrood. We don't need any more of the decisive politics of hatred and envy that epitomised the referendum. I had enough of SNP racism then and the sooner the Scottish electorate see the failed SNP government for what it is the better.

SNP failed on the NHS, failed on the Police, failed on education.

Sturgeon should get back to doing the job she is paid (far to much) for and try to sort the mess out.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/09/2015 19:21

Yes and yes.

Know of a few nos who would switch to yes if rUK votes to leave EU and Scotland doesn't.

From the polls it looks like there is a small but steady number of people moving from no to yes.

Can we try and keep this thread pleasant. Please?

Livingondaisland24 · 07/09/2015 19:32

Yes yes and hell yea! Im still for an independent scotland and never being ruled by tory rotters ever again. Devolution was great for scotland btw, do you want to live like they do down south?

ICanSeeForMiles · 07/09/2015 19:37

Yes then, yes now. And I still get the rage when I see my facebook posts from a year ago and I think of what we could have had. fuckwits

BankWadger · 07/09/2015 19:48

Voted no, had a slight wobble right after, but now utterly don't regret my no and would still vote no.

In 5 - 10 years down the line if some changes were made I'd change my mind, but as time passes it looks like nothing will change.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/09/2015 20:14

Apparently not, ItsAll...

Shutthatdoor · 07/09/2015 20:17

No and still no. I also know of people who were firm yes that would now be a no.

Shutthatdoor · 07/09/2015 20:18

Apparently not, ItsAll..

^ this....Sad

Behooven · 07/09/2015 21:36

Always goes the same way...

Trooperslane · 07/09/2015 21:47

I was a no in a not yet, not sure about Eck kind of way.

Now that DC (which is NOT short for dear children) is in No10, I would be shouting yes, yessssss YEEEESSSSSSSSSS a la Meg Ryan in when Harry met Sally.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 08/09/2015 09:52

No and will always be No. I find it interesting how I always see people online claiming that they know No voters who would now vote Yes. I've never met one.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 08/09/2015 10:02

I suspect there has been a shift, albeit small.

If you look at the pre referendum polls compared to the post referendum polls (scroll to bottom) you can see this.

ttlshiwwya · 08/09/2015 10:11

No regrets. Yes then and Yes now

PaulAnkaTheDog · 08/09/2015 10:12

I don't trust the polls. I think we all learned that after last year.

Intastella · 08/09/2015 10:18

Yes then, yes again.

LemonBreeland · 08/09/2015 10:28

No and still no. Can't imagine ever changing my mind to vote yes.

ComtesseDeSpair · 08/09/2015 10:30

I was a devout Yes, but would vote No or abstain entirely if another referendum took place in the near future.

I've just been really disillusioned by the aftermath of last year and a lot of the rhetoric in the Yes camp. As a result I'm no longer sure if now is the right time for independence. Have also noticed a real increase in anti-Englishness (I'm English) which has disappointed me as it seemed that before the referendum there was a lot of effort made to reinforce that independence was about what's best for Scotland and not nationality.

I've since moved back to London for work (return to my home in Scotland some weekends) and it's just been such a relief that whenever I meet somebody new I haven't felt like I'm being questioned about which side I voted on so they can judge me accordingly.

I do wish I could feel the same way about voting Yes again, and genuinely have no issue with anyone for how they choose to vote either way.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 08/09/2015 10:43

That's actually very interesting Comtesse. Did the plummet in oil prices in any way change your mind?

WankerDeAsalWipe · 08/09/2015 10:59

The oil price plummet is a red herring as the figures didn't make sense even at the previous price levels. Would have been 7-8bn defecit now 12bn with oil prices.

Apart from that, Comtesse has cited reasons in her post, none of which seem to be economic.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 08/09/2015 11:05

Just a question Wanker, wanted her opinion as I am interested.
