Would you think this odd?

If your partner sent a text to someone straight after leaving the house at 7am "saying I'm available to talk, can you call as early as possible"

it depends on who it was to - I'm assuming it's a woman? Then it would depend on what their relationship was. I think you need to tell us more.

themoon66 · 15/05/2009 20:05

Whoooow

mrsruffallo · 15/05/2009 20:05

Sounds quite business like to me

ninah · 15/05/2009 20:06

depends who
why not just call them?

Stumblebum · 15/05/2009 20:06

Was there a x on the end?

Sounds like work to me

angel1976 · 15/05/2009 20:07

I wouldn't because I think the message sound quite 'businesslike'. It depends on what work the person concerned does as well? For example, DH is an IT consultant and can be on the phone a lot to discuss issues etc. He has in the past taken calls while we are driving to somewhere and then asked them to call in an hour when he is done driving so in that sort of context, I think it can be perfectly innocent?

thisisyesterday · 15/05/2009 20:08

i thought the same as others. sounds fairly business-like

skidoodle · 15/05/2009 20:09

Doesn't sound especially odd to me.

If you wanted to talk to someone that early in the morning, it is likely you would text first to let them know you were available, as it is before normal business hours.

hmmwhatdoyouthink · 15/05/2009 20:10

Don't know who it's to. Showing in phone contacts as initials only which is not typical for my partner. all other contacts have full name

OP posts:
mrsruffallo · 15/05/2009 20:11

Do you have reason to be suspicious hmmm?

skidoodle · 15/05/2009 20:11

Could the initials be the person's name e.g. a guy called John Paul but always known as JP?

oregonianabroad · 15/05/2009 20:12

I'd ask him.

MagNacarta · 15/05/2009 20:14

I've put people in my mobile with their initials on the odd occassion when I've been in a real hurry. It doesn't sound like something you should worry about, but why are you checking his texts?

skidoodle · 15/05/2009 20:14

How did you find the message?

thisisyesterday · 15/05/2009 20:15

well this is predcisely why it's a bad idea to look through people's personal stuff.

you'll have to ask him

mrsboogie · 15/05/2009 20:15

Yes, I would think it odd.

YanknCock · 15/05/2009 20:16

Still agree with it sounding business-like. As for initials, if I'd needed to quickly save a number I'd gotten, I would just put initials in. Either would figure I'd put the whole name in later (and would probably forget), or it might be someone I planned on deleting once I was done with whatever business I had with them.

Do you have other reasons to be suspicious of him?

hmmwhatdoyouthink · 15/05/2009 20:16

Think I'm being a twonk here are't I? Am in a bad frame of mind at the mo.

Thank you all I think I need to sort myself out xx

OP posts:
skidoodle · 15/05/2009 20:19

Not necessarily. Context is everything.

Why are you in a bad frame of mind?

hmmwhatdoyouthink · 15/05/2009 20:22

PND. Started to take ad's a couple of months ago, thought they were helping but feel like i've slipped back now.

OP posts:
YanknCock · 15/05/2009 20:23

I wouldn't say you're 'being a twonk', but would just wonder what made you suspicious enough to check his phone?

Yurtgirl · 15/05/2009 20:26

Based on my experience and the way my H behaved then yes that text would be suspicious

Im sorry

Talk to him and find out

hmmwhatdoyouthink · 15/05/2009 20:26

No real reason, not even sure why I did. I don't normally

OP posts:
YanknCock · 15/05/2009 20:26

Sorry, xposted, could you be just feeling a bit vulnerable and paranoid? That can certainly happen with depression.

hmmwhatdoyouthink · 15/05/2009 20:27

what else did he do yurt?
