No i think if they are goig to do it they will do it anyway, despite their job

KarlWrenbury · 29/01/2009 15:11

But some jobs MUST help it along

It's not the job, it's the opportunity. Some people will cheat if given the opportunity, and some jobs give ample opportunity.

The worst are surely jobs where colleagues stay in hotels overnight. My DP knows of at least three people in his company who cheat when away on business.

Teachers is a top one apparently

eh?

ConnorTraceptive · 29/01/2009 15:13

I think some jobs might provide more opportunity rather than make a man prone to it IYSWIM? DH works on building sites so his opportunities are limited, although he did get flowers from a man once

There are careers which must put a horrific strain on any relationship. I imagine that the temptation to stray for either you or your partner must be high if one of you are in the forces.

Or any career that involves long periods away from home. Ie. long distance lorry driver, prehaps a pilot.

However I suspect a lot is down to the individuals in a relationship. If someone wants to stray they will find a way and an excuse.

Why do you ask?

MagdaMagyarMadam · 29/01/2009 15:14

I do know what C1/C2's refer to by the way

My DH is a teacher. Better keep a closer eye on him However, he wouldn't get away with much as we both work in the same school

morningpaper · 29/01/2009 15:43

university lecturers surely? so much time and nubile girls on their hands and at their feet

BennyAndJoon · 29/01/2009 15:45

FOrces?

hf128219 · 29/01/2009 15:47

It's the environment.

Police
Customs
Forces

MorrisZapp · 29/01/2009 15:47

I know quite a few women whose partners work offshore, usually in all-male environments. There is little opportunity for the men to cheat but the women have weeks on end of privacy and leisure.

I don't think any of them have cheated but all of the guys are on their second marriages and it's common knowlege how difficult it is to make a marriage work for offshore employees.

I think it's a compromise based upon the material lifestyle the offshore, taxfree wage brings. (In my friends case, not saying all offshore workers)

MrsMerryHenry · 29/01/2009 15:47

MP on the subject of nubile girls, apparently 2ndary school teachers (men, obviously) are more likely to divorce than their 1ary school equivalents. It's thought that they subconsciously compare the nubile girls to their not-so-nubile wives and go off seeking pastures green.

MorrisZapp · 29/01/2009 15:48

lol just remembered my namesake - Morris Zapp from the David Lodge books. He uses international academic conferences as shagging opportunities

They're all at it!

Divineintervention · 29/01/2009 15:50

Police.... Three good friends of mine have police DH's who have all had affairs, only one left her DH.

MrsMattie · 29/01/2009 15:51

DJs. I've worked with dozens of them and they are all, without a doubt, slaaaaags.

morningpaper · 29/01/2009 15:53

anyone who has to attend conferences

MorrisZapp · 29/01/2009 15:55

If my reading of acedemic farces is correct, conferences held in warm climates where the universities are well funded and serve cocktails at the reception are particular adultery-stirring

MorrisZapp · 29/01/2009 15:55

academic - doh
