What stories do you have of silly accusations your ex partner made against you?

So, I've been reading a thread recently whereby a young lady was devastated that her boyfriend had dumped her and it was slowly coming out that he was a walking red-flag. I think since typing the 'problem' out she came to the realisation that he was a nasty narcissistic who made her feel like he was doing her a favour by staying with her. Some of her stories were horrible and some really dumb.
This got me thinking about my past marriage and silly little things that I was accused of - probably a reflection of his own awful behaviour and wanted to hear similar stories.

Silly story 1: I was in my bathroom before work and noticed that the dust had built up behind the linen bin. I moved it to the middle of the floor to remind me to clean when I returned. Later in the day my ex-h went home, saw this and came raging back into the office (I worked with him) to accuse me of moving it out of the way so I could perv out of the window at the young boy of maybe 18/19 who lived next door! (I'm in my 50s)

Any silly stories to tell?

Some awful stories here. And a pattern here of cheating men accusing their partners of cheating… I guess they judge others by their own standards.

I once went on a date with a bloke

Was going well, maybe I'd see him again and see where this goes

About an hour or so in,my (married with two kids and adored his wife) friend messaged me

Date heard my phone ping but I didn't check it (being polite)

He asked who it was and I said it will be my male friend,he not only demanded my phone to read my messages,he went mental when I refused and screamed in my face about how 'I was shagging him!'

As I went to stand up and get the fuck out of there,he stood up and started screaming and pointing at random men while yelling 'have you fucked him?or him?what about him?'

I got the fuck out of there while ringing another friend to make sure I got home safe

He messaged me on the dating app the next day to tell me he'd had 'a lovely time and when did I fancy doing it again?'

Dodged a bomb sized bullet that evening

The ex i had two dc with

He only went for contact to punish me for ending it

He finally stopped showing up and I got a court order to stop his parental rights as it was making me ill and no good for the kids

Anyway, didn't hear anything from him until dd was an adult

He got wind that she was going away,on holiday abroad with her long term boyfriend

He messaged me (not her) on either fb or insta demanding I take her passport away and cancel her holiday 'or else ill make sure she cant go!ill take this to the highest court'!

Dd (at the time) was 27 (she's now 30-he hadnt seen her since she was 2)

And he'd just got back from his own holiday abroad! (bought with the csa money he refused to pay for them)

Gave us a good laugh at the time

She went away and had a lovely time

The definition of Bat Shit Crazy!

2years ago, I went to the wedding of some old friends after being reassured that my ex wasn’t invited. Had a great time until someone who knew him from church (that was an ironic development) abused me for stalking him. Luckily the bridal couple were nearby and were able to attest to the truth - I have been happily married for 25 years and haven’t seen him since I walked in on him up to his nuts in out “best man” on Boxing Day 1999. I walked out of his life and never looked back. (Church girl was horrified, but I couldn’t care less if she believed me or not.)

You gave someone the keys to your house who had been dating for 2 weeks, told them to let themselves in and wait for you there for several hours. 😱

Allowing a complete stranger access to your home, aside, what sort of evening was that? Why even bother telling him to come over and why didn't you arrange to see him another day.

No, he was supposed to come over at 10pm. I'd known him a couple of years via a hobby but only dated a couple of times.

But you're right, I was young & foolish. I won't let anyone have a key again. These days I don't let a man know where I live for at least the first couple of months, and my spare keys are locked in the safe.

Angela59 · 30/08/2026 08:45

Accused me of pegging my pretty underware out in certain way in communal washing line area so other men could see 🙄
My big knickers were there too by the way!
Joys of living in RAF married quarters!

I aparently hatched a plan with my then 3 week old baby to bully ex out of the family by encouraging the baby to pee on him during nappy changes.

😂😂😂

Bloody hell are men OK?
And yet it’s always them that have the “crazy ex”

Theunamedcat · 30/08/2026 21:09

He accused me of being obsessed with the actor who played obi one kenobi (my phone wont let me spell his name 😂) because I watched his show long way round and I cant ride a motorbike (it was like a wierd travel show I found it interesting) he then accused me of being a lesbian because I DIDN'T like brad pitt and EVERY WOMAN LOVES BRAD PITT he also sobbed at his friends I was in love with Matt Smith because I watched an episode of Dr who and worked out he was trained in football just by the WAY HE PLAYED
we separated not long after (for non matt Smith related reasons)

Just insanity "what would you say if I wanted a Pamela Anderson poster IN OUR BEDROOM THEN" was one of his go toos like how is that making sense im watching a show? I started to read books instead he was upset by the written word too

ClawsandEffect · 30/08/2026 21:31

Ex girlfriend (lesbian relationship) went around telling friends / contacts that I'd had an affair and left her, when in fact she'd had an affair with a friend and work colleague of mine. Someone I worked in the same office with so had to see everyday at work after their affair.

Stole my passport and lied about it. And when the police went to her house to collect it, lied to them too and told them that I would probably claim she'd been violent with me (I hadn't mentioned it, but yes, she was a violent drunk).

Then spent the next couple of years calling and emailing me and getting her friends to do the same, accusing me of affairs, of abusing her, of using her for money. She also left voicemails on my mum's phone. She even reported my adult child to the police for vandalising her car, when clearly it had been trashed because she lived on a main road in the town.

She also accused me of not paying back money I owed her for a holiday she'd insisted we go on when I didn't want to (even though there was a regular standing order going to her monthly). Took me to small claims court, won (because I couldn't get the day off work, whereas she didn't work (benefit queen) ) and the court LOWERED my monthly payment due to my low income.

She was a nightmare from start to end of our relationship and although I'm bi, put me off ever wanting another relationship with a woman.

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 30/08/2026 21:38

Ex of 7 years when I was in late teens/early twenties. We had stayed in a house in Spain which belonged to a friend of his aunt one summer and then a few weeks later we went to watch a rugby match. In the middle of the match he suddenly started shouting at me that we got to stay in the house due to friendship and “I wouldn’t understand anything about that” - he was randomly really angry, so I left and he followed me to berate me all the way home (an hour bus ride) - I was totallly humiliated as everyone on the bus could hear him and hear me crying.

The irony is that we stayed at an apartment owned by a good friend of mine from uni in Paris the summer before, which was basically the same situation!

I still think about it 25 years later and although it totally baffled me, he did things like that randomly all through our relationship - accusing me of random things to put me down and belittle me. Absolute arse of a man. He eventually turned violent and the day I walked out and told him he’d never see me again was one of the happiest of my life!

that I’m ‘un natural’ to say ‘love you’ to my brother

Imgladsummerisover · 30/08/2026 22:22

NC for this. My ex told everyone that I was abusive, narcissistic psychopath etc. He was respected in the community due to his job and no one believed me it was the other way around. He was awful. When he was angry with me, he would make me sleep on the sofa and turn tv on loudest volume and told me I’m not aloud to turn the tv off. Then he murdered his next girlfriend he had after me. Poor woman had two children. I always wonder if I should have done more so people believe what he was like but I was so glad to get out of that relationship

MorrisseysMisery · 30/08/2026 22:38

I was accused of stealing his van. He'd drunkenly parked it somewhere he shouldn't have, and the vehicle was subsequently towed away. I did not know where but I can assume it was impounded. He did not pay the resultant fine and insisted that I'd stolen said van and sold it for £1000 to make quick money. Thankfully the police did not believe him.
Accused of selling drugs from the basket underneath our child's stroller.
Accused of silly things like deliberately bending over in front of men to attempt seduction.
That i deliberately went to a charity shop and bought the most revealing top i could find to tempt the window cleaner (Oh Lordy he's a walking cliché)
Insisting on a DNA test on our child (which i would not entertain) as he believes his biological father is a local quite elderly businessman.
Oh, and as an end to this litany of nonsense he reported me to social services over the above. They were very nice and all they did was call DS's playground and our family GP and closed the case by mid-afternoon.

He now lives alone, having had his Driving Licence revoked. He hasn't worked in years and has thrown away what could have been a good life as a family.

Some of these men are genuinely a danger to society. Very warped to the point of convincing themselves of things that have taken place.
I am glad you got out of that relationship

So many...exh is a bit of a loop the loop.

When we split up he sent me ranting texts accusing me of stealing his car. I was hundreds of miles away with my parents because he'd locked me out of our house. He knew this. Turned out he rang the police to report it and as he was giving a statement he remembered that he'd parked it at the shop, forgotten and walked home. He looked out the window later and assumed it had been stolen from the drive. There's no words, are there? 😂

I had this

Once we'd broken up,instead of paying for the kids,he spent the money on driving lessons, his test and a real banger of a car (and 5*holidays)

I had the police on my doorstep months later, demanding to know what I'd done with exs car

'Fuck all,because I can't drive'

Thankfully nothing happened and they seemed to think he was a dickhead (they had the measure of him)

I still dont know if he'd driven it somewhere and forgotten or had it stolen

As I've said, his mums house, the landing window faced my bedroom window-i saw his car back outside her house

Then, the dc and I had spent Christmas with my parents at the other end of town and came back home boxing day evening

I noticed his car was a burnt out shell-either it had blown up or someone he'd upset had set it alight (I never found out) but he rang the police again to tell them I'd set it alight

Thankfully they only had a chat and I could say (with about 20 witnesses-people who'd swung around on the day),I'd been at my parents and not outside his house, waving a lighter

Another time,he got wind that I was going to take the kids abroad on holiday so rang every airport in the UK to say they couldn't go without his permission and to have me arrested when I showed up (a judge had cut his parental rights by this point)

I've never been abroad-i didn't even have a passport (and neither did the kids)

We spent the holiday in parks and other free activities

He still crows that he 'had her arrested as she was taking MY kids away without MY permission!'

He didn't because I wasn't going away-but it was fine for him to go abroad but a sniff of the kids having a holiday and he went out of his way to stop us

I'll never know if the airport staff took him seriously or not

This shite went on for years until he got bored (he still pops up occasionally but I laugh and block his pathetic rantings)

He's still out there, the toothless wonder, still telling people I shagged about,(still am apparently-30 years on-im 'not allowed' a new partner after him)the dc (now adults) are not his,he didn't pay for them as 'she'll only spend it on herself' and that I stole and then set his car alight (along with god knows what else)

ruddygreattiger · 31/08/2026 08:28

On telling my exh I didn't love him anymore and we would be getting a divorce .
his responses -

Are we even married anyway? (We got married in Vegas in the 90s, all perfectly legal.)

Is our dd his? (If he thought I would cheat he obviously didn't know me at all).

What's the guy's name? ( I had zero interest in men, didn't even want the one I was married to!)

Bless, he really thought he was the ultimate catch and I was mental for thinking he was a lazy twat.

TurtleCavalryIsSeriousShit · 31/08/2026 13:13

Accused me of trying to kill him by using the same knife I had just used in margarine for my sandwich to spread whatever he had on his sandwich.

He was apparently allergic to dairy. I took his allergy very seriously and always made sure not to use the same utensils, but still got accused of it every couple of weeks.

He also packed my bag for a mandatory work camping trip (team building) as he was controlling. Then accused me of sleeping with one of my bosses because he packed my red lace underwear and it was now missing: "Who did I leave it with as a souvenir?" I told him he was ridiculous if he did pack it for a camping trip and I hadn't seen it. Found it later under my bed. Men are stupid.

stample · 31/08/2026 13:28

I shaved my legs and my bf at the time said “why did you shave your legs when we’re not spending the night together, are you going to cheat on me?” I was so shocked I laughed

Yello24 · 31/08/2026 16:57

Mine is grim. I was a uni student in the 80s and naive about men. Got swept up by a 36 year old man who worked in the same pub as me. I was a people pleaser and he was hard to argue with.
We started a relationship and he was massively jealous and controlling. There was no washing machine in my student house so he offered to do all my laundry at his house (well it was his sister’s house where he lived). He said he’d looked at my knickers and could tell I’d been excited when I’d not been with him so who was it? Imagine him sniffing and examining my pants. Ugh.
I wish I’d just dumped him at that point but that didn’t happen until he followed me to a club where I was dancing with my group of friends and tipped a full pint of lager over my head so I had to go home.
Oh and once I’d dumped him a girl in my uni house said he’d tried to grope her.
Had to leave the pub job because he refused to speak to me when I finished with him and said he didn’t speak to slags.

Many moons ago I was a skint single parent

Anyway,I scraped enough money together to buy myself a treat-an urban decay liquid eyeliner (I know it's a luxury but I really wanted one-took me nearly 18 months of saving)

I put some on and felt amazing wearing it-it gave me a real boost

Cue ex-apparently i was only wearing it so I could flutter gold glitter at the dad's on the morning school run and I'd be fucking them by lunch

I guess he never saw the school dad's first thing in the morning

So yep,an eyeliner brought all the men to my bedroom

A rimmel red lipstick had the same effect apparently and I was to stop wearing make up immediately as I only wore it so I could fuck other men

Hes still out there, making women's lives a misery as he does what he wants but women have to live by his rules

TiredButDancing · 03/09/2026 11:14

Not me, a friend.

He was in a car accident. It was her fault because they'd had an argument before he went out.

She was (apparently) having an affair with her best friend (a woman. And no, she's not gay or bi). the reason he believed this is because they would go out for an evening, drink too much and generally have a good time plus they texted often....

There were more. Over years. I did enjoy her telling me about the time, after they'd broken up, when he had a meltdown about the "parties" she was apparently throwing and how "disrespectful" it was to do this without inviting him!? She felt obliged to defend herself and tell him it was just that she'd had a big BBQ with her large extended family when I was thinking, "so what if you ARE throwing parties!?"

He also called/texted me and a number of other of her friends to rant about her and/or us. At first, his accusations just had that tiny little bit of truth or believability that it made us question.... and then he would just go completely nuts. Everyone has blocked him now.

So if he met someone else wearing eye-liner and lipstick, it was because they wanted to shag him? 😀
