Boyfriend kissed someone else and arranged sex, would you stay?

I need some advice please.
It’s my first proper relationship (6 yrs), and we both live with his parents as we are saving to buy a house.
We went away recently, made friends, and got drunk.
I found out after we came home that my bf had kissed one of the girls whilst I was off dancing with the other girls. It gets worse.
He arranged to meet her for sex when they were both sober. I think it only didn’t happen as he wouldn’t have been able to come up with a good enough excuse to leave me on my own. He admitted all this when we got home and I don’t know what to do. Stupidly, still love him but he’s betrayed me. He said he was sorry and can’t explain why he did this and keeps saying he doesn’t deserve me and gets upset. One side of me wants to run from him but I don’t really have anywhere to go, and the other side wants to forgive and still have the future we’d planned together. WWYD?

Leave. He’s a bastard

Namechange546 · 30/07/2026 06:21

Dump him. He will do it again.

And the "I don't deserve you" tears are pure manipulation to make you feel sorry for him.

curious79 · 30/07/2026 06:21

Read your post again and decide. Honestly, if you can’t see from it what a massive walking red flag this relationship is then there’s no hope.

If you stay he knows he can get away with anything in the future.

IronEverything · 30/07/2026 06:24

Leave him based on the BS about being the worst person ever, alone. That's manipulation and it will escalate if he gets away with it.

PersephoneParlormaid · 30/07/2026 06:26

Do not get financially entangled with this cheater.

PixelatedLunchbox · 30/07/2026 06:29

Split fairly the money you’ve saved for a house and leave. Get a flat share if you have to, but finish with him. He’s a cheater and a calculating one at that. Next time he’ll just hide it better.

category12 · 30/07/2026 06:29

Don't.

You'll never be able to trust him again and that's no way to live. You don't have that future you planned together, already - he's pissed all over it.

Take your share of the savings and start over.

Don't let there being a bit of difficult time ahead practically stop you. You're young, you don't have dependents, get out. You'll be doing your future self a favour.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 30/07/2026 06:31

Absolutely leave him. Were you to stay, you set the pattern of acceptance of this type of behaviour for the rest of your relationship.

Superhumanfemale · 30/07/2026 06:39

Sorry this happened to you. There is a good quote I rely on ‘when someone shows you who they are believe them’. If this is him do you want that? Hope this helps.

Gettoachiro · 30/07/2026 06:41

Leave him, he's a piece of scum.

FlapperFlamingo · 30/07/2026 06:41

Leave. He will not change! Easier to leave now then when you are financially linked and have a baby. I’m sorry you are going through this.

Marroon · 30/07/2026 06:42

Take the money you have saved from living with his parents and move out.

Likeiloveyou · 30/07/2026 06:43

Dump! There’s better out there for you.

Exactly this.

Gladitsraining · 30/07/2026 06:47

Honestly OP if he kissed this woman whilst you were both out together supposedly enjoying yourselves and arranged to have sex with her can you really not imagine what he must get up to when he is out with his friends, or at work etc.?
Why would you want to stay with someone who has proved himself totally untrustworthy and so lacking in any respect for you?

Tiddlywinks63 · 30/07/2026 06:47

Do you really have to ask?
The first response nails it Leave. He’s a bastard

Enfrancais · 30/07/2026 06:52

Of course you leave!!! Sort it out!!!

user1492757084 · 30/07/2026 06:53

You have saved money living with his parents so you have not lost entirely.

Thank his parents, take your half and start afresh without him.

'He cheated' is a perfect reason to leave.

Next time choose a man who doesn't allow alcohol to cloud their decisions.

DozyCrow · 30/07/2026 06:53

Are you both young OP? These relationships that start as teens don't always work out because as you grow up and mature, you realise you're not as attracted to that teen love as you thought you were. Is it his first serious relationship too?

I too would suggest you leave. If you don't have parents you can go back to then consider looking for a room in a shared house or see if anyone is advertising for a lodger. If your bf can do that to you then he's not mature enough or trustworthy enough to be committing to in any way.

Meadowfinch · 30/07/2026 06:54

Get rid. He'll do it again.

Lsquiggles · 30/07/2026 06:55

Have some respect for yourself! He would've slept with her given the opportunity, don't buy a property and get further entangled with this man.

Channellingsophistication · 30/07/2026 06:58

It sounds like for him the relationship has run it's course and he wants to explore other options...

If you stay with him, it will happen again. It's even worse that he did this when you were around as someone above said, what does he get up to when you are not around?

Unfortunately, you need to make a plan to leave with your half of the savings.

TheFlyingPenguin · 30/07/2026 07:00

Game over I’m afraid. He knows exactly why he did this, he does not want to admit it to you. He will repeat this behaviour and it will be worse when you have a house etc together. The future you thought you had with him has gone. Sorry this has happened but best to move on now.

EwwStew · 30/07/2026 07:01

Oh dear.

How bad was your parents relationship/upbringing? Because you should absolutely know that this behaviour is unacceptable.

Why don't you know how much you are worth? Why would you waste your youth on someone who considers you disposable when a new shiny toy comes along?

Please dump this sorry excuse of a male.

MJagain · 30/07/2026 07:02

If this is how he behaves when you’re out together having fun, imagine what he’ll be up to when you’re financially entangled, at home with a baby feeling tired & “boring”.

He has shown you what kind of person he is. His ACTIONS tell you that, not his crocodile tears. FGS don’t buy a house with him. Tell his parents , some RL support for you and leave
