Is my nephew gay?

My younger nephew is 18 and has a male friend. They seem to be out all the time together and they have been on holiday together. His friends parents come round to my sisters house to have drinks bbq and watch sports and have games nights. My sister and her husband and my nephews friends parents have only met through my nephew and his friend. Does this seem like a normal thing to do when u have a friend? His friend has been round and chilled in my nephews room before. Nephew 18 friend 19. Is this normal or does it sound like he's gay? I have asked and been told no just friends. I would hate to think that he couldn't tell me and would judge. You can't help who ur attracted to or who u love.

This just sounds like me and my best mate as teenagers. We used to spend all our time together, sleep in the same bed, our families were close - we’re not gay.

What a ridiculous post. Firstly, it’s none of your business so keep your nose out. Secondly, the fact you’ve asked might be seen as judging, so they’re unlikely to tell you. And why do you think he’s gay anyway? Are 18 year olds not allowed to have mates?

How is this any of your business? Whether they're a couple or just friends, it's up to your nephew what he wishes to disclose about it. Just be happy that he's with someone who he enjoys being with.

If he is, he probably wouldn't want to tell you because you are so nosey. Do you discuss your sexual preferences with your nephew?

If he’s gay then he’s gay. Who cares? Let him be. If he’s his boyfriend then he’ll tell you when he wants to.

In your shoes, I would be happy that my nephew had a close male friend that he feels comfortable with. So many men struggle with their mental health as they can't confide in someone in the way that females do with their friends.

Whether or not he is gay, is irrelevant.

Totally normal. Isn’t this what mates - male or female - do? And several of my closest friends I’ve met because my kids were friends with their kids. He maybe gay or may not be. His friend may be gay or may not be.

When your nephew is visiting have you tried playing The Weather Girls "It's Raining Men"? and if he gets up and starts dancing you'll have the answer. The test also works with The Village People with "Macho Man", but doesn't work with "YMCA" is that may confirm him to be an elderly relative at a wedding.
