Basically somewhere in the middle between red and green
I would say religion don't care either way.

Are you watching The Chase? On ITV1?

There was a question about 'beige flags' in a person (someone being a bit dull and boring) on today's show - 15 minutes ago! Never heard it mentioned before EVER, and now here we are, a question on The Chase about ('beige flags' in a person) comes up, and then all of a sudden, a thread appears about 'beige flags' in a person! Within a quarter of an hour of each other!

WEIRD! 😱

Oh by the way, beige flags for me - a man who is into lycra clad cycling, a man who plays golf, and a man who likes Jazz music. (Actually, I couldn't tolerate a man who is obsessed with any sport not just golf, or a man who is obsessed with dogs/has dogs. I don't dislike dogs per se, but I don't want one in my life, and I don't want a man who has one.)

Crocosmic · 12/03/2025 17:35

'Beige flags' would be about boringness for me -- someone who wasn't an entertaining talker, someone who liked football, someone who liked to be in their pyjamas at 6 pm, someone who thought weekends were for catching up on chores.

(A mix of red and green would be brown...?)

Crocosmic · 12/03/2025 17:35

I agree with yours, @BatchCookBabe.

I agree with yours, @BatchCookBabe.

Thank you! Smile

Beige flags for me are about boring people. Someone who couldn't carry a conversation or have a polite argument/discussion with me, someone who was so obsessed with a thing, whether it be a hobby or a pet, that it was their only topic of conversation. Someone who had no interest in doing things or taking trips. No spontaneity.

sixtyandfabulousofcourse · 12/03/2025 17:41

heavily into sport playing or following
into sci fi the same way

RedToothBrush · 12/03/2025 17:44

Goes on holiday to the same place every year. Has never been to London. Doesn't have an opinion on politics (need not being the same opinions as me). Likes to fit in with everyone. Doesn't have favourites of x, y or z (generally just is indifferent about stuff). Doesn't has a passion in life.

MrsSunshine2b · 12/03/2025 17:50

Using beige flags to mean someone who I suspect will bore me to death:
Always working and/or preoccupied with money.
Obsessed with nutrition and diet.
Obsessed the gym.
Very outdoorsy- nothing wrong with this as a personality trait but I am an indoor person 😂
Snobbish about music/ TV/ film or any other entertainment
Conversely, only interested in "low-brow" things and no interest in theatre/ politics/ arts.
Obsessed with cars or sports.

Ionut · 12/03/2025 17:53

Leaving drawers open...

RedToothBrush · 12/03/2025 17:57

Keeping up with the Jones's mentality.

Oh god that's depressing.

stayathomer · 12/03/2025 17:59

Them expressing interest in living somewhere far away in the future, chatting too much about politics, them liking extreme comedians or influencers (these may be red not beige though!)

Game0fCrones · 12/03/2025 22:19

Beige flags for me would be:

Drinks heavily or spends a lot of time in pubs.
Is heavily into football or other mainstream spectator sport.
Drones on about wine.
Drones on about networking.
Is obsessed with dogs.

I actually really enjoy people who are into Sci-fi and space, so that would be a green flag for me.

LasagnaWithChips · 12/03/2025 22:54

Obsessed with their fitness tracker. Especially if they tell you their ‘sleep score’ every morning. Aaaargh.

ItsMutinyontheBunty · 12/03/2025 23:03

I went on a date with a guy who declared he hated summer and lived for air con - we were deciding if we would sit inside or out. It was a lovely sunny day - asked me how I felt about it. I had to reply ‘I drive a convertible car’ 😆
Anyone really into cycling..just ugh.

DirtyBird · 12/03/2025 23:08

Someone that has road rage
someone obsessed with cats, or really any obsessions
someome that has to be doing something every second of the day
someone who doesn’t enjoy downtime

Spacehop · 12/03/2025 23:09

Men who bang on about their corporate jobs.
Boy toys : yachts, cars, watches . Not impressed. Yawn.
Niche music and the bands they follow.
Drunken escapade stories.

Mine did that for a time. I asked him to zip it in the end 😄

justasking111 · 12/03/2025 23:11

Mine is into sailing, fishing , shooting, rugby, dogs, hates downtime. Good thing I'm beige about it all.

Ohyeahwaitaminute · 12/03/2025 23:38

Have you met my ex @justasking111 🤣🤣🤣

Arseynal · 13/03/2025 00:07

Lego
cycling
telling you about their exercise/steps/fasting

edited to add “energy drinks” and also those power milkshake things in vast plastic beakers

IncessantNameChanger · 13/03/2025 00:29

Thinking about things my adult son does that irritate me - has no regard for how to dry clothes. He put 20kg of washing in the drier and steamed everything into creased little balls which he then hung out badly to crust up. Gave me the rage but I still love him.

Shouting at the TV watching sport.

Eating set meals on certain days of the week.

Ironing their underwear

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 13/03/2025 00:51

Obsessed with brain-dead primetime TV, Strictly, Eastenders, I'm a Celeb etc

Ex was like this, and it's a small part of why they became Ex.

Hattie907 · 13/03/2025 01:29

When cycling or running becomes their whole personality

Being on a diet/gym regime esp if they are the sort to whip out their little weight lifting book in the gym 🙈

Workaholics

Fussy eaters

People who take themselves too seriously

GiddyRobin · 13/03/2025 02:33

Football lovers. Cannot stand them/it. Also dislike rugby and a lot of other sports, but football is just a no.

Gamers - though specifically for men. I'm bisexual and my ex girlfriend and I occasionally gamed as a one off couple thing. That was fine and I've known plenty of women who game and it's just one thing amongst many more that they enjoy. It's always men who get obsessive about it and it's such a massive turn off.

Anyone working in finance/army/police/debt collecting, etc.

Fussy eaters. Genuine dislikes, fine, but there's a line.

Constant whinging about things. The weather is too hot/cold/sunny/gloomy/windy.

Avid TV watchers.

Anyone who isn't political/ can't have a conversation about what's going on in the world.

People who don't read books.
