Is 5 weeks too soon to be in love or falling in love?

I've been seeing someone for 5 weeks, it's been absolutely perfect from the beginning, just green flags. We have seen each other about 9 times, sex is amazing as well and we also get on great.
I feel that I'm falling in love with him.
I find myself listening to love songs and thinking about him, buying him little things that I think he might like, excited before seeing him and also gutted at the thought of him ending it. I also have the urge to tell him i'm falling for him but I want to hold back in case he's not quite there yet.
So does this mean I'm in love or falling in love? Or is 5 weeks too soon to be in love with someone?

Funnily enough, dh and I have been married for nearly 28 years. We'd known each other for six weeks when we married.

As others have said- when you know you know and that’s it. We had a first date in October and on NYE December we said we were falling love. October 2000 that was.

It's probably Limerence, but who cares... enjoy it for the delicious soul food that it is!!!

So good to read a happy post. Thank you. As many posters have said, these feelings can be the start of a lasting relationship. In fact the flip side, where people don't feel these intense feelings to begin with but the person grows on them can sometimes be put down to just getting used to someone or settling.

The problem is not with your feelings, just the English language not having a word [that I can think of] that describes this initial rush that isn't full on love but not quite as dismissive as infatuation sounds.

I hope you continue to be as happy as you are now.

My DH told me he loved me after 3 weeks.

I also have the urge to tell him i'm falling for him but I want to hold back in case he's not quite there yet.

I'm obviously way too old fashioned for this site but I had to do a double take at the fact you're sleeping together but feel worried about being honest and open about your feelings. Really?

seems cart before horse ....
