Someone I know, and no, it's definitely not me, has a DH who has given her Chlamydia.

He's telling her he got it from a toilet seat and refusing to leave the family home and has cast himself as the injured party. I think that this is to make it easier to justify leaving her but on his terms.

How can I make her see that she's being fed the script and has anyone got any ideas in what the next part of the script will be please?

I don’t think you’re a troll

I suspect though she’s not being entirely straight with you

That could of course be entirely true. She's ND, has struggled with confidence since not being able to secure a job and at the moment I don't think she knows which way is up.

Ok well in the case Op, be skeptical.

this simply isn’t ringing true to me

sounds like she does need support though

TinyMouseTheatre · 22/02/2025 09:57

So he’s even more stupid if he took his wife along to an app at a sexual health clinic

He is quite dumb yes. Dumb, unfaithful and a liar apparently.

So he’s even more stupid if he took his wife along to an app at a sexual health clinic!

He could have taken her as a form of abuse. ‘Look what I’ve been getting up to’ as a way to hurt her.

Some men will rub their awful behaviour in your face because they know you won’t leave. In this case he knows he’s the one with the money and she doesn’t have a job she maybe he feels he can do whatever he wants.

Well in that case, this latest incident is the tip of the iceberg

So it was a sexual health clinic and not GP?

TinyMouseTheatre · 22/02/2025 10:00

I thought it was the GP but like you say, she may not be telling the full story Wink

OP posts:

Well yes clearly he is “quite dumb”

but unfortunately your friend finds herself financially dependent and presumably with children on someone “quite dumb”

Ok op
be there for her
but in your shoes, I wouldn’t waste much time chatting about this latest drama

Yep, we don't all make great choices for the other parent to put DC do we? Grin

I'll talk to her about DARVO. I was aware that this is what happens but I've never seen a name for it before.

OP did you see the post about googling “can you get chlamydia from a toilet seat”?

I’d be concerned about anything he might passed on to the children

Othermentions · 22/02/2025 10:10

Herpes, chlamydia, hep B just for starters

Othermentions · 22/02/2025 10:10

Presumably the clinic immediately advised your friend to get tested right there and then?

Othermentions · 22/02/2025 10:11

So he went about his symptoms and got tested
Got a diagnosis
and then friend got tested?

Yeah, will do that. She's had various people, including a friend who is a HCP tell her that it can't have happened and for some reason she is still saying she believes him.

Whether it's fear of losing her home and family or something else I don't know. She's intelligent but does struggle because of her ND.

Yep she's getting tested too. Doctor booked her in.

your op indicates she knew she had

Othermentions · 22/02/2025 10:19

GP said to her that you need to get tested, and you need to tell your GF to get tested too.

this is BS OP. No way would a GP make an assumption that a patient was having an affair and declare it in front of the wife

Your friend is blowing smoke up your ass

Well they might make the assumption but they certainly wouldn’t voice it - they would open themselves wide open to complaints and it’s so unprofessional.

That's what she says happened. Report me if you think I'm a troll Wink

She can't report you as she's a previously banned poster herself!

TinyMouseTheatre · 22/02/2025 10:26

Yeah I'm not getting heavily invested, I too don't think she's giving the full picture. Just wanted to point out next fine she brings it up that this is The Script and what he's likely to say next Wink

Yeah I've been on here for a good few years on this account and a few years before that on another which I lost the log in details for.

I'm not sure MNHQ would take reports of me being a troll too seriously or at least I hope that they wouldn't Wink

And the other thing I don't get is yeah, he's dumb a cheat and a liar but he still manages to get 2 women. How are some women's standards so bloody low?
