Which song most conveys the feeling of how you felt after your breakup?

I don’t forgive you - Isabel LaRosa

So satisfying somehow, doesn’t make me sad at all.

Baby, is she really everything you need?
It's crazy, think you love her after just two weeks
You hate me 'cause you know I'm not that easy
I hope she breaks your heart so casually
I don't forgive you
I don't forgive you
I still fucking miss you
But I don't forgive you
Trust me, I'm in every other girl you'll meet
You see that god'll bring you back to me
Baby, I hope you think she'll never leave
And then she'll break your heart so casually
I don't forgive you
I don't forgive you
I still fucking miss you
But I don't forgive you
You drive away
I guess today's the last I am seeing your face
I don't forgive you
I don't forgive you
I still fucking miss you
But I don't forgive you

Later with Jules version is something else - the way he screams into the guitar, such a raw private moment of devastation

I don't know where I'm going
But I sure know where I've been
Hanging on the promises in songs of yesterday
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time
Here I go again, here I go again
Though I keep searching for an answer
I never seem to find what I'm looking for
Oh, Lord, I pray you give me strength to carry on
'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams
Here I go again on my own
Going down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time
I'm just another heart in need of rescue
Waiting on love's sweet charity
And I'm gonna hold on for the rest of my days
'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams
And here I go again on my own
Going down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time
But here I go again
Here I go again
Here I go again
Here I go
'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams
And here I go again on my own
Going down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time
And here I go again on my own
Going down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams
And here I go again on my own
Going down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone

I just don’t know what to do with myself - Dusty Springfield probably the ultimate breakup song.

The Brightside - Lil Peep DS played it on repeat when he split up with his first girlfriend.

And, Save that Shit - also Lil Peep the beat reminds me of the alternative bands we used to go and see in the 1980s.They were all about breaking up.

Every little bit hurts - Aretha Franklin painful.

Then you can tell me goodbye - Joss Stone desperate.

You’re gonna love my baby - Barbara McNaire

PrincessofWells · 20/02/2025 20:35

All I Ask- Adele

DS and I can belt this one out on car journeys. He’s at uni so we play a lot of music while travelling there and back. He has a brilliant taste in music, DH used to play a lot of music to him when he was young. They had an hour of dancing every night. As a result his play list covers 6 decades. His friends insist he does the music when they are together.

AmeliaTangfastic · 20/02/2025 21:13
