My oh deleted my messages

Found out my oh of a long time has deleted all my messages except from start of December.
It hurt my feelings as I thought they were memories between us but now I feel pissed off as obviously didn't mean a lot to him. He's still affectionate and tells me he loves me but I was surprised as we quite often send each other other nice messages and he said he deleted to free up space.
I was quite surprised and disappointed.
Have told him it hurt my feelings and I was surprised and I'm not going mention again but it does piss me off!
Am I being over sensitive?

I've never thought about keeping text messages perhaps I'm in the minority.

I wouldn't have thought that my husband has kept any either but we've been together for 19 years so something must be working right even without us being sentimental about text messages!

They obviously meant a lot to you, but it sounds as though he didn't realise it was a 'thing' (as I didn't).

That wouldn't even register as an issue for me, I think you are being over sensitive.

Hmm…I’ve never really thought about this. Dh and I have been together 20 years and I’ve been through many phones (had a Nokia brick when we first started dating) so I don’t have any messages from the past. I do have a lot of messages on my most recent phone but that’s only bc I never think to delete stuff, not bc I’m emotionally attached. Maybe he just doesn’t think about stuff like that?

Oversensitive, yes. It takes up a lot of storage, he was just freeing up room. You still have them, so it's ok he doesn't!

I delete every text message and call log every night,if it’s an important one then I will take a screen shot of it,

Not everyone is sentimental.

I clear all my texts, WhatsApp's, Messenger most days 🤣 not remotely interested in trawling back reading through old 'memories' ... more interested in how DH treats me today.
