What does it mean when a person heart reacts to your text message?

This is a real question I'm not trolling I don't use this feature. Therefore, I have no clue as to what it means when a person uses it as a response to my text message. My friend heart reacted my message I sent her yesterday when I told her the Christmas card, she sent me was cute and thanked her for it. A guy heart reacted my message when I told him I want to be friends and have sex with him.

I know other people use this feature as well so can someone tell me (without being rude) what this means?

I think it just means they like your message really.

EucalyptusAndPeppermint · 15/12/2024 16:59

That I’ve seen the message.

TheRozzers · 15/12/2024 17:00

Yes it just means they like what you've said and are on board with it.

AudiobookListener · 15/12/2024 17:01

I just use it to mean " I love your message". Apparently, the grey hearts are for friendship, but I usually just use the red one.

Crushed23 · 15/12/2024 17:01

It's liking / acknowledging your message.

I use this feature when there isn't much to say by way of response to a message / photo / video.

LilyHarris · 15/12/2024 17:01

It means I like what you've said and it was a particularly nice message to receive, but I don't have anything I need to say in response.

User364837 · 15/12/2024 17:03

I probably use it instead of saying “love this!” Or “I agree!” Or just as an acknowledgement that I’ve received something like if someone thanks for me something

Nc546888 · 15/12/2024 17:03

I like your message

This sums it up pretty well.

Moresunlessrain · 15/12/2024 17:05

I use it to mean 'ok' 'thanks' 'great' but end of convo. As I don't like the 👍 for this

niadainud · 15/12/2024 17:07

For me it's a stronger "like" than thumbs up so I don't use it often.

ScottBakula · 15/12/2024 17:07

I agree with pp, it means they like / appreciate your msg .
The friend that replied ❤️ to your card message is fine , I'd do the same .
The guy that replied ❤️ to you wanting to have sex with him , I'd kick to the kerb , I'd want a much more enthusiastic response and some engagement.

pizzaHeart · 15/12/2024 17:10

It means that I’ve seen your message and liked the idea/ agreed with it

ohyesido · 15/12/2024 17:11

Wait, what? You text a man and said you want to have sex with him?!

ohyesido · 15/12/2024 17:11

@ScottBakula nailed it

Alalalala · 15/12/2024 17:12

In this context I’d say the man was giving you the brush off. Because it’s inadequate as a response to what you said.

Your friend was just rounding off your text exchange in a warm way.

GreyCarpet · 15/12/2024 17:15

It's just an acknowledgement and one that people think will be less passive aggressive to receive than a 👍

It also means they can't be arsed typing a response.

We have already done it before.

I don't really use it but a friend seems to use it to mean "I've read but don't have time to reply or anything to say"

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 15/12/2024 17:24

I always see it as a "I have seen your message and am happy with it, but can't be arsed to fashion a proper response."

We tend to use it in work on Teams a lot. A thumbs up for "Yep, that's fine" , or a heart for "Yep, that's a great idea, let's do that".

I'm not a fan personally, would rather just respond via text, but it seems to be the way things are going now.

User820825 · 15/12/2024 17:28

I think she just means that she is pleased you like the card.

He means 'ok, that's fine by him'.

Miyagi99 · 15/12/2024 17:46

ohyesido · 15/12/2024 17:11

Wait, what? You text a man and said you want to have sex with him?!

What’s wrong with that?! Do it to my other half all the time.

TiredArse · 15/12/2024 17:46

Certainly the younger people at work use a heart for just about anything.

TunipTheVegimal24 · 15/12/2024 17:47

He means "I'm not going to object to carrying on having sex with you. But to reiterate, I will be putting 0 effort into having a relationship or friendship with you and can't even be bothered to reply to your message".

mondaytosunday · 15/12/2024 17:48

So asked my DD by text if she wanted shepherds pie for dinner. Heart emoji back... pretty clear right? Same with yours. It means 'yes please' 'love that idea' 'love your text' 'count me in' 'I'm happy about that'...
