I don’t know anything about weed
never grew up with it - at school, uni etc
don’t know anyone who smokes it
guy I’ve just started dating smokes 6-8 a day on the weekend - weed and tobacco
he said he smokes after work during the week too

I don’t know if this is a lot and how it would affect your health and life? Obv I know tobacco is addictive and terrible for health

That level of addiction will make him a massive PITA stoner to be around. When he's had his weed and when he hasn't. You don't really need to be seeking out that kind of hassle and strife.

It's the most antisocial drug. The smell alone makes me sick.

I've dated guys who take all kinds of drugs recreationally, but I've always steered clear of regular weed smokers.

Weed affects the brain and it can lead to paranoia, laziness and addictions. It can affects epigenetics passed down to offsprings. Not to mention financial issues.

6-8 times a day is a heck of a lot. I turn a blind eye to the occasional puff but that is a heavy user.

People smoking it here are vile (usually men). Filthy stinking habbit and illegal. Harmful effects on the brain with high usage.

Trying it in Amsterdam where it's legal and regulated is one thing.

It's also a gateway drug to even worse ones for the losers who smoke it.

FIL is a weed smoker. Fabulous dad, hard worker, maintains a pristine home and is fastidious about its maintenance. He lives in Canada where it is legal but has been a smoker long before it was legal. He was one hundred percent a keeper, bringing up two children as though they were his own.

Yes there's always one outlier...doesn't change facts regarding the majority.

Well done OP, you have definitely done the right thing.

I've never smoked weed but have seen it destroy so many people's lives who are close to me over the years, so for me I'd never be able to go out with anyone who smokes it. Also, it absolutely stinks the smell makes me feel sick!
