I am bi curious.
Any advice on where to start?

I've heard the dating app HER is very good, however I downloaded it & I saw a lady from work straight away and I couldnt work out how to hide my profile from her or block?

Yes ive been on Her. There seems to be alot of men on there lately. Ive met someone on there weve become friends with benefits so to speak bit taking it slowly x

Her and Hinge have both been good apps, in my experience! They give you the space to be open about what you’re looking for and Hinge especially relies on common interests by letting you message in response to different elements on people’s profiles.

Yes, there are trans and non-binary people but almost everyone would be fine with a brief “not for me, thanks.” If they’re not, report them as you would anyone sending nasty messages!

So I was scrolling mumsnet bored and came across this thread and thought I'd share my experiences and thoughts in case they help anyone out or give you something else to consider etc.

I have only ever been in relationships with men but when I met my current partner 11 years ago and we were chatting in the early days I admitted to being bi curious and he shared he had slept with men and women but not been in relationships (I was his first actual partner!). Anyway we chatted through interests and such and decided to try swinging, initially I was massively anxious and actually started to really enjoy the naughtiness of it if that makes sense. Anyway from that I had intimate times with women and men, we had times that we had a couple and all played around on a few occasions with different people and I discovered I really am quite bi! Also I had some fun with just me and a lady, wow I must say that was probably the best time I've ever had. I'm still very much in love with my partner and couldn't imagine a relationship with a woman but definitely enjoy intimacy with one! Now I've gained a bit of weight and lost a bit on confidence but have the full permission of my man to do what I like with another woman, as does he with another man, always safe of course. The only concerns we have is safety both intimately and the idea of meeting someone we don't know or allowing them to the house etc.

Through the swinging app we have used what I can say is there are single women looking for just that, fun with other women, but and its a big but, there are also men pretending to be single women on there! As someone who has used it for a few years now I'm happy to dm and chat with anyone wanting help spotting the dodgy men pretending to be women if it helps.

Anyway just a thought and my experiences that may help. I'm east midlands too by the way :)

Following on from my earlier comments. For those who can get away for a short break, l think you’d find a long weekend in Brighton more rewarding than any app. I can suggest some nice venues.

I‘m a lesbian. On Hinge my setting is looking for women only, and my profile shows that I am gay. I have noticed that there are a lot of women on there who choose not to have their sexuality visible on their profile, but who have obviously set their settings to “looking for men and women” because they appear in my feed (and they wouldn’t if they’d set to men only). So just try that? If anyone you know sees you, they won’t be able to see whether it’s men or women you’re looking for.
