Shall I text him?

We've been speaking daily for about 6 weeks. I wasn't all that interested to start and very busy moving house. He pursued me a lot and eventually I started to like him and together we felt good about each other sending compliments, hearts etc you get it. He was meant to come and stay at mine this weekend and I have also been invited to stay at his though never been because I have a daughter and won't leave her overnight with anyone. But back to the relationship itself, a few days ago he started getting distant and then stopped messaging all together. Shall I message him to say anything and if yes what to say? I was thinking to say something like...

If you were busy or even lost interest that would be ok and understandable but having plans with me and not saying a single word to me is not OK. It was great whilst I thought i knew you and glad to see the real you before I truly invested my heart into this, (am actually pretty hurt but obviously not going to show him that).

Is that in response to my message..?

No

Don't text him. And definitely don't text him that! It reads like you're justifying and making excuses/assumptions for his poor behaviour.

What are you hoping to achieve by messaging him?

Deep down you know he's cooled off. Just let it fizzle.

SunflowerTed · 19/05/2024 08:43

He’s not interested. Move on.

Channellingsophistication · 19/05/2024 08:44

The text is really heavy going so I wouldn’t send. I wouldn’t send a message at all. I appreciate this is hard but men are very good at getting what they want so he will be in touch if he wants to take it further.

I would also be very careful about who you let into your home especially with a child around. Men can seem really nice and easy to trust, but you don’t know who they are really…. Take your time to get to know people….

Negative nancy I didn't come here to talk about my decision to let him into my home. I came to ask if I should text him or not. If you have nothing to say about that then 🤐

6 year olds don't like being forced to listen to one night stands, They also don't like strange men walking in and out of their mothers bedroom.
Your need for sex can NEVER trump your daughters right to a safe home.
My mum used to do shit like this all the time, she has four children.. three are no contact, all because of shit like you're planning. Grow Up!!

You've met once and wasted a lot more time than you ought texting. It's fizzled. Let it. Agree with others re letting some random into your child's home. However re your question, don't bother to text. Just block. He knows it's bad manners to disappear if you've made an arrangement. What are you telling him that's new?

I'm not fully sure what you're looking for but 6 weeks texting someone 2 hours away was a total waste of time. Even if you want casual, there needs to be some in person interaction or youre kidding yourself

You sound quite vulnerable to me, giving this man your address and having him over on a second date plus referring to this as a relationship. If you want to meet someone , please focus on your and your child's safety and date in public places until you know the man. Also, don't get emotionally invested until you've known them a while. I would also not bother with distances since you have commitments locally

" sending compliments, hearts etc"

Personally, I find all that malarkey a bit cringe-worthy and if a guy was doing that to me before we'd even met it would put me off him.

How can he compliment and love/heart you when he doesn't even know you? And you, him?

Bluestarling · 19/05/2024 14:27

What you hoping to achieve from texting him?

If it's to get things going again, it probably won't work.
If it's to give him a piece of your mind, he probably won't care that much
If it's to get closure, it probably won't make you feel better.

He ghosted you....he's really not worth any more of your time.
