He took a week and a half to reply. Would you respond or ignore?

I had been chatting with a guy from online dating. We had been arranging to meet up.
He asked when suited me, I replied and then also asked him another general question about himself. He didn't reply for a week and a half and wrote that work was crazy and sick family member etc, but that he was keen to meet up still.
Would you respond to this? I did want to meet him but just feel like I would be a complete push over if I did.

Why on earth is he on a dating site if he's too busy to even spare 2 mins to text back? It's just ridiculous, no one is that busy and if they are, they wouldn't be looking to start dating someone.

Call me cynical but I’d say he’s probably had someone else on the go that hasn’t worked out so he’s seeing who else is on offer.

Some of them are there for just talking and flirting and feeling good when they are bored at home when their wife or partner is in the other room. I had this with a guy once and we arranged to meet then he couldn't blah blah. Shortly after I was walking along a busy seafront and walked right into him with his wife and daughter. He nearly shat his pants I think!

If you're not his first choice....never ever bother being his second.

As someone close to me said " never be someone's option".
