Yeah, thats right Carol.

Old houses may have a cold water storage tank in the loft but modern houses just take all cold water from the mains. If you have a combi boiler your hot water is directly from the mains too.

carol3 · 08/03/2008 23:17

thanks bbm that would have bugged me, would hate to think I'd falsely mocked dp

suedonim · 08/03/2008 23:18

Dh does that dishwasher thing, too. He'll unload and reload it countless times until every last item has gone in. I reckon he thinks it a slur on his manhood if he has to hand-wash anything. I can't think when I last loaded the DW when he was around - not that I'm complaining!

BigBadMouse · 08/03/2008 23:21

I prefer eating puddings with a teaspoon - makes them last longer.
Not everyone has a cold water tank in their loft.
Idiosyncracies: keeps everything that says to refrigerate after opening in the fridge. I know this sounds sensible but our fridge is full of branston pickle, horseradish, jam and mustard. Is that normal?

A man who wears slippers?

No, slippers are naff.

DH and I have a pair of house shoes and the girls wear socks.

cremolafoam · 08/03/2008 23:28

some of these are hilarious.
have been noticing more since i started this thread.
he will eat cream buns, but he says he doesn't like cream
also mashed potato is banned , but happily eats his mums shepherds pie

OP posts:
BigBadMouse · 08/03/2008 23:29

biccy - yes, I do that. Drives DH mad, the jam goes from cupboard to fridge every few days in our house. I find the jam in cupboard, curse DH, move to fridge, DH has midnight snack and sneaks it back into the cupboard. We can't fit anything 'normal' in the fridge when I'm getting my own way

cremolafoam · 08/03/2008 23:30

yes but he floor is not the cleanest place to be walking about in bare feet.he would rather have black dirty feet than just put something on.ming

BoysOnToast · 08/03/2008 23:34

he not only doesnt like melted cheese (cold cheese is fine), he wont actually stay in the house if theres a cheese sauce around. any dish with any kind of heated or melted or cooked in any way, cheese makes him feel sick and go on like a fkin baby.

but he'll eat pizza.

LynetteScavo · 08/03/2008 23:36

My DP can't eat roast chicken unless it comes with ALL the trimmings. He nearly cried once when I served it with pasta & salad.

suedonim · 08/03/2008 23:38

What are house shoes? Any relation to house horses?

Kindersurpise · 08/03/2008 23:38

BigBadMouse
Have you noticed that jam is also called preserves

That is because they have been preserved. They don't need to go in the fridge.

Sometimes I put the jam on the wrong shelf of the fridge to annoy DH.

BigBadMouse · 08/03/2008 23:42

look here kindersuprise I've just had this argument with DH - it is OK until you open it then in the fridge it must go

cremolafoam · 08/03/2008 23:42

so what then
crocs are just wrong
beachwear is revolting
slipper socks are for girls
flipflops will make him look like a dick and he will complain that the bit between his toes will 'rub'
clogs- well don't even go there

he need a pair of slippers

OP posts:
Kindersurpise · 08/03/2008 23:45

Adilletten are the perfect "slippers". DH has been wearing them for years.

LynetteScavo · 08/03/2008 23:45

Jam should not go in the fridge!!! I have had this conversation with him a thousand times. He still puts it in the fridge, or it will go off, aparently.

BigBadMouse · 08/03/2008 23:47

Lynette - it will

purpleduck · 08/03/2008 23:49

DH has lived in our house for the same amount of time that I have - yet he still doesn't know where basic kitchen things go.

Today he couldn't find the new shampoo because it was one shelf above where he thought it would be. In full view.

He HATES mashed potato too. I don't know how he got through the screening process.

Kindersurpise · 08/03/2008 23:55

PRESERVES, FGS!!

Bet you store your ketchup in the fridge too.

berolina · 08/03/2008 23:57

Jam and ketchup in he fridge in he bero household

My (German, Anglophile) friend puts Marmite in the fridge. Now that is just plain wrong.

suedonim · 08/03/2008 23:58
Mumcentreplus · 09/03/2008 00:00

sue I went to make a jam sarnie for my DD this afternoon and guess what!...it has stuff growing on it!..lol

suedonim · 09/03/2008 00:01

And anyway, how many of you keep your flour in the freezer? I do!!
