Guy cancelled first date but stil texting?

It's the first ime I've dated in 10 years so not sure how to behave.

Started talkigbto someone online dating about 2 weeks ago, exchanged numbers. Was supposed to meet today but he said he wouldn't be in town as he was WFH due to working late yesterday and being tired today. I figured he was just making his excuses so simply said thanks for letting me know and feel better soon but he is still texting me. Is it worth texting back or just leave it? I don't want to pester if he has lost interest and simply being polite but not sure I'm reading too much into it?

I came across a few like this when I was OLD. They enjoy your attention but can't be bothered with actual dating. His opportunity to show he was interested was when he cancelled. He should have been making the next arrangement then. As in "I can't make it tonight xx excuse etc, but are you free next Wednesday instead?".

I did block on whatsapp and online daig in the end. Not to be nasty but I don't know this man and no reason to keep in touch and he messaged yesterday asking if I want to meet for a drink (didn't think to block via text) so I've blocked on that too. I've started seeing someone now so fingers crossed 🤞

So you were supposed to meet on July 27th, and had already been talking for a fortnight. He cancelled, and only got around to asking to meet again on August 15th?

Who on earth has time to waste like that?!
