Has anyone regretted leaving their marriage?

I am married and am thinking about my next steps. My husband is controlling but I am scared of losing him.

Has anyone left but then regretted it? And if so, why?

@pointythings I'm just re reading some of these and not sure if you'll ever see this, but curious, did you leave?

@Oz122 oh yes, I did. At the time of writing my post, I'd been single just over 5 years. I did stay far too long though - my husband was an alcoholic and because his deterioration from the good man I married was so gradual, I had a classic case of boiled frog syndrome. It all ended very badly, with police and social services involvement, and he died 8 months after being made to move out.

My life has been brilliant since.

@pointythings oh that's fantastic news that your life has been going well. I just wondered and wish you all the best. X
