Husband called me an ironing board

Me and my husband had an argument this morning and I said to him " he talks in a very ugly manner". He turned around and started making hurtful comments about my body calling me an ironing board. I've never heard the term before but he said I have small breasts and no bum.

I can't believe how childish he is to say such hurtful stuff to me. I've not spoken to him since, I'm currently in the spare room. I can't believe I married such a pr**k.

I don't know what I am expecting from posting on here. I feel I need to talk about how I feel, I just feel embarrassed to tell my friend what he said so wanted to talk about it on here.

I do wish people would stop saying men "help" around the house, instead of saying they behaved like the adult they are and did 50% of the household chores.

It's subliminal thoughts like this that mean women are still considered as the primary household cleaner, cook etc

I cant help thinking though that if the OP was bigger and the insult was about that the thread would be full of unasked for weight loss tips. But not before posters would have asked how big the OP is. But we dont get the same response You never get posters asking if the OP is too thin.

Im sure shes not and the ironing board comment was abusive and disgusting. Im just pointing out the double standard.

@JenniferBooth
On any thread where a man comments on a woman being overweight or about what she's eating or exercise the vast vast majority people tear the man apart.

The double standard is generally that it's ok to comment on thin peoples bodies (not in the manner that her husband has, but in general) but not overweight people so I'm not sure why you try to make out the double standard works the opposite way because it's not true.

@JenniferBooth let's not derail the thread. This has nothing to do with that whatsoever.
