How would would you read this drugs test?

My partner has just done a drugs test after I suspected him of using cocaine between midday-3pm Thursday. How would you read the cocaine result?

How would would you read this drugs test?
OP posts:
Newwardrobe · 16/12/2022 13:22

Does a faint second line mean that there could be a trace of cocaine in him.

It’s positive, but frankly the result is the least of your problems if you are needing to get your partner to do a test at all ….

That’s so unfair. You don’t know their circumstance or if he’s recovering and they are trying to regain trust. Standing by a recovering addict is hard enough without all the judgment of people on the internees who don’t know what they’re talking about.

Negative.

But if you're with a person who's into drugs, please dump @lalallola . Unless you're happy with that.

And he could've used someone else's wee...

What if he is ill but trying to recover? You know nothing of their situation.

There’s not, there’s two, it’s just faint.

Maybe try reading the thread @HelsyQ ? OP did a second test which came back positive. Not even a shadow of a line.

And stop shaming her. Women are not rehabilition centers for men. You don't put your wellbeing at risk to hold an addict's hand through recovery, especially not one who has just lied to you about using an can't be trusted. The rate of relapse for drug users is incredibly high. OP's priority is to keep herself safe.

Maybe try reading a basic text about addiction.

I’m a recovered addict. My partner stood by me, should he be ashamed of that - because that’s what you’re implying. I know what I’m talking about. Someone trying to get better is in every way different to someone who doesn’t want to and you have no idea of their personal circumstances.

You are condescending on a subject you clearly know nothing about so perhaps you should either educate yourself or just stay out of it.

I have not implied that someone should be ashamed for standing by an addict. Good for them, if that's what they choose and are able to do it without enabling the addict further.

I have pointed out however that no one has an obligation to do it and that no one should be shamed for prioritising their own safety and mental health instead.

Two different things.

It’s not like a pregnancy test though, faint doesn’t count. Look at it compared to the others, why would it be so much fainter compared to those? Because he is on coke is why.

Octo5 · 16/12/2022 14:13

I would have said negative so I’m glad you did two more tests to prove it was positive.

I assume this means the end of the relationship and I’m sorry for that.

lalallola · 10/12/2022 18:54

He actually brought this himself and did it without me asking but I'm just wondering if one bag (0.5 gram) would still show at this stage?

From where did he bring it?

Username6194 · 16/12/2022 14:17

I would read that as negative

I could not agree with you more which is why I have in no way suggested that. I suggested she should be able to do so without judgement IF she wants to.

Actually, faint does count 😊

I said I wasn't happy with the other result as I found it strange that the line for cocaine was virtually non existent compared to the others when that's what I thought he had done. He ordered these and did them yesterday and they are positive, more positive then the other one in fact. Can anyone explain? Nothing wrong with the tests as I did one to give him the benefit of the doubt and mine was negative.

Where's the faint line in these two, @HelsyQ?

warofthemonstertrucks · 16/12/2022 14:29

Positive for cocaine. However bear in mind that cocaine shows up as positive on tests up to 6 months after it was last taken. So all that tells you is that he's done cocaine in the last 6 months but not when.

warofthemonstertrucks · 16/12/2022 14:30

Oh sorry-actually that's just hair tests. What kind was this?

Ohh I’ve just read the whole post and seen the pictures. Yes - they look positive that’s very sad for them both.

You don’t need to be so smug about other peoples heartache, it’s frankly a bizarre way to behave.

OP - Do what you’ve got to do. Thinking of you both.
