Meeting times for affair?

How likely is it a man and a woman would meet up early morning on a dog walk if they were having an affair and/or having casual sex? By early I mean five thirty in the morning and the walk is a large area of field/woodland next to housing.

All the opinions posted so far are exactly all the things I was thinking at the time. It really made me paranoid because there were odd things like his phone pinging early then the sound of him closing the door to leave. So I thought, was it an arranged meet and the person letting him know they were there?
I've been triggered for sure but it also feels like I had a sudden realisation that actually, yes, a woman might want to meet him in the morning for half an hour just for .. whatever? A snog even I'm thinking now. Makes me feel sick.
This might sound amusing, but the poor dog got a tick at that time too, suggesting the dog was laid down stationary for a while.

Ticks can latch onto an animal or person that's just walking past.

If you don't mind me asking, were you travelling far to meet him? Did you meet in secluded areas for only short periods of time? What would you get out of this?

We would have met for 15 minutes if that was all we could manage, just to chat and hold each other for a while.

Whilst I'm sure there are serial cheats that are just in it for the sex, I honestly don't think that's what most affairs are.

if DH or I tried to do this the family Labrador would think we were dying and jump into “rescue” mode.

@Icecreamclassic thanks for your contribution. It's so far-removed from my attitude to life, but then I guess I've never been in that situation. I couldn't be bothered to make an effort to meet someone like that for 15 minutes. I would think it's a waste of my time.

My mates husband did exactly this, conducted an affair during lengthy early morning dog walks. Yes it's entirely possible.

I know and in the cold light of day, looking back it's madness, like it happened to someone else, but at the time it was such an intense "soulmates" situation that everything depended on those snatched moments.

Get one of these, a bit like a dash cam but it fits on a dogs head!

It isn't just about sex for everyone so yes absolutely possible. Just a desperation to be in each others company.

It may not have stopped, it just seems that way. The early morning walks happened during lockdown. Everything was different during lockdown. People not going out to work. Partners at home all the time. The early morning walks stopped but lockdown also stopped.
Likewise, it may not have started during lockdown. It may have been going on before, but adapted for lockdown. Early mornings would have been the only time available to them. Partners would be asleep. A good excuse for an early meeting is to walk the dog. Was the dog acquired suddenly just before lockdown?!
In normal circumstances perhaps meeting in this way would not be ideal but they were not normal circumstances.

That's true, the dog doesn't need to be stationary for ticks to climb on.

OP, if you have quite a few unsettling out of character regular occurrence about your DH, also give his past history, it doesn't matter what exactly happened or is still happening. You don't trust him and you never will. Maybe his behaviour on returning home was different too. And why would a random woman write about it?

I'd have never thought people walk dogs so early in the morning for the purpose of consuming a torrid affair, but the majority of answers here state that it is very possible. So maybe it is.
Unfair on the dogs too, what if they run away, get bored etc.

We would try and meet weekly, for a day or evening out (we both had flexibility in our work schedules) but Covid made that difficult. Wasn't just about sex, just being able to see each other.

My ex next door neighbour and friend was leaving her kids in bed and going for very early morning walks turns out she was meeting up with my ex we had only just split after 18.5 years. People will do anything to cover there tracks.

Our local farmers was always finding 'couples' getting frisky in his fields, woods & various abandoned buildings during lockdown as the usual venues for an affair or quick shag were out of bounds. Rain seemed to be a bit of a deterrent but not much.

He did not mind too much, it was out of control dogs attacking his lambs which really got him upset.

You really need to speak to him about the 4year STD thing I'm afraid. Did you get symptoms and then test or did he tell you? Some STD symptoms can go unnoticed but 4 years is a long time and would more than likely cause serious damage and symptoms would usually be showing before that 4 year. I'd be amazed going 4years no symptoms showing

Phew! 😁 I'm quite worried about all these dogs being neglected on their morning walks. And to think I come across all these respectable individuals with their well looked after dogs and in my mind I always think 'well done for being active' and how lucky our dogs are and lucky we all are to see the early dawn, birds singing, mindfulness etc etc. Everything is so wholesome and healthy. God knows what they're all up to!!!

So if the affairs are not for sex, they sure as hell are for the fantasy/ego trip. And there are people who will have serial affairs for the fantasy element of it.

Morning Wood is a place in the US, otherwise as far as the UK is concerned it is a physical concept. Alternate names for it are Morning Glory, The Beard Splitter and Vlad.

Does he have Google maps timeline enabled on his phone? Make an excuse to sneak a peek. My guess is it will pause for 3 minutes, 54 seconds in the cosy bedroom of a suburban semi not too far away..

If your significant other objects to being in a group with you on that app on their phone I would suggest you might think about "why?".
