Do you believe in Law of Attraction/Manifesting?

So, I am a woman with OCD, that relates to the above. I believe every bad thought or scenario I have will bypass logic and happen and manifest. I am in a loving relationship with my DP and I am constantly catastrophizing/worst case scenario thinking, which brings a strain on him, me and also us both together.

I love reading your threads and comments where you all basically talk sense into anyone posting - so I could really do with your thoughts on the subject above. Realism encouraged!

@notlongtoo not rude or condescending at all - I do!
This makes complete sense and to be honest, it is all about outlook. I can be quite glass half empty at times, so you're right in pointing that out. Thank you! I'll take these ideas on board!

I believe that if you are constantly catastrophizing/worst case scenario thinking, which brings a strain on him it will be harmful to your relationship but not down to fate just because you have put that strain on the relationship by thinking that way. Alternatively be positive about your relationship & happiness will breed happiness as your partner will be happier & more secure

@Fuzzy303 I agree. Last year, we had a short break and it was in July. I’m dreading July for that exact reason, while we have no issues, my OCD is just grabbing onto the date. It’s all me.

Just to add - I think when you are a worrier you will always find something to worry/obsess about. I try to keep this in mind.

I try to distract myself (not easy) at times. I find doing a bit of exercise each day like a walk clears my mind.

I do have days when it all gets too much and I just need to talk it through.

Livingwithobsession · 30/06/2022 19:00

@paydayatlast I did say this to myself before, if it wasn’t what I was worrying about now - it would just be something else.

I currently have a ton of free time and I think I really just need to find things to do Blush as sad as it sounds.

@Livingwithobsession - it's not sad at all. I've started taking myself out for coffee every now and again - anything enjoyable that will distract me will help.
