Have to leave kids

I want to leave my husband. I can’t be in the same house with him anymore. But I can’t leave the DC and he will never go himself and I can’t make him. What do I do? It kills me but I feel like I have to go right now. But that means I’ll have to leave them.

Don’t leave
My mum left 4 kids when her marriage broke down in the 60’s; she had no money, job, career. It was and still is, a broken family

OP - do you want to leave the kids are you’re trying to justify it to yourself?

ravenmum · 08/04/2022 07:50

A woman does have just as much right to leave the children as a man.
However, it sounds to me as if OP does not even want to leave the children, but just feels as if she has no other option, as she is desperate and very likely depressed.
OP, tell the GP what you have told us - that you are desperately unhappy, cry constantly, that your husband is treating you like shit and you feel you have no choice but to leave the children as you can't stay in his presence any longer.
And do have a chat to women's aid.

If he is that unstable mentally you can’t leave the dc with him. He sounds like he isn’t capable of taking care of them. Contact womens aid for advice and don’t leave without the children. They won’t care about leaving their home in the grand scheme of things.

You need legal advice, that is your priority. The money bit can wait, but you need to sort out practicalities out. Your kids are young enough to cope with change. It's far better to live with a happy fulfilled parent than two parents fighting each other. Lean on your parents for help in whatever way they can. You might be surprised by the support they can offer. I wish you well.
