How to nourish my dear son...

JC2021 · 02/09/2021 22:21

My son is so intuitive, sensitive and a beautiful old soul, he will be 3 in October..! He amazes me with the things he remembers and the music he likes..

For example Dom McClean Starry night - he says "mama, this is beautiful"...

Omg heart melts.. I'm not just saying this, but he isn't your average 3 year old.. (at times he certainly is!) but I mean his general level of awareness.

At times I'm quite gobsmacked..

He is wonderful and so kind..

How do I nourish this old soul? Ensure he is understood in settings when I'm not there?

Does "old soul" mean reincarnated?

DappledThings · 02/09/2021 22:28

Bless

Thatsplentyjack · 02/09/2021 22:29

You literally said this in another thread a few days ago. One you made!

MaMelon · 02/09/2021 22:30

Can you give us some more examples of the intuition and sensitivity of his old soul?

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 02/09/2021 22:30

Honestly he just likes the song .
You are reading to much into this.
He is 3!

You are amazed and full of love by your first child. It is beautiful to see and very cute.

However, I am sorry to tell you that basically every other first time mum feels the same towards their child. They are all wonderful, unique and amazing. To their mums. For everyone else, they're just another child.

He'll be alright. He'll have his mum to tell him how amazing he is, and the rest of the World to show him that, in order to truly be special, he needs to prove himself.

If he likes Vincent try him with Winterwood by Don McLean as well.
I'm picturing him as Tiny Tim for some reason...

Nietzschethehiker · 02/09/2021 22:34

Be fair.....I am also assured that my DS2 is an old soul.....because no sodding way has he learnt that level of destructive chaos in 5 years....must have been a viking chief in a previous life.

It would certainly explain the ability to decimate a bedroom within 10 minutes.

FlosCampi · 02/09/2021 22:38

@Thatsplentyjack- ah, I see your point and regret asking a genuine question now.

WhiskersPete · 02/09/2021 22:41

🤣Actually made me lol. Thanks OP

Thatsplentyjack · 02/09/2021 22:44

But yes OP, your ds is the only 3 year old I the world that is aware of things Hmm

EmbarrassingMama · 02/09/2021 22:47

How do we add this to the thread about most ridiculous things said about PFBs?! Grin

SmidgenofaPigeon · 02/09/2021 22:47

Oh.

Xiaoxiong · 02/09/2021 22:48

Ensure he is understood in settings when I'm not there?

I use reverse psychology- I tell the nursery staff/teachers how awful my child is, tone deaf, a complete philistine who only likes finger painting with bogeys and biting other kids.

Then they will get defensive of how lovely he really is and treat him nicely because they think I'm a raging bitch and he gets no love at home.

Works like a charm!!

Tomteetum · 02/09/2021 22:50

This world was never meant for one so beautiful as him ...

PinkFootstool · 02/09/2021 22:52

Take him to the Sistine Chapel?

Goldbar · 02/09/2021 23:07

Like Garfield the cat..."Love me, feed me, never leave me".

At times, I'm quite gobsmacked by my 3yo too... but for very different reasons to yours Grin.

NatriumChloride · 02/09/2021 23:10
