Anyone use condoms AND withdrawal?

I have huge anxiety over getting pregnant. My husband might get a vasectomy soon but in the mean time I'm trying to find a way to have sex without worrying I'm pregnant until I can take a test. We used withdrawal successfully for 6 months before we had children but we were okay to get pregnant then, not now. I can't use hormonal and can't do IUD either.

Anyone have success with both condoms and withdrawal?

Thanks

So, you have huge anxiety about getting pregnant but your "D"H is taking his sweet time over getting the snip? Simple! No sex till he gets it. I'm sure that will focus the mind.
Perhaps he doesn’t want to undertake potentially risky surgery? 1 in 10 have long term chronic pain from vasectomy surgery.

I wouldn’t want my DH to have it done.

There’s plenty of evidence of this long term pain on the family planning section. It’s actually worth you having a look on there OP, there’s plenty of advice there.

Surely if you have that much anxiety about falling pregnant you would take extra contraception precautions?

But she claims that he i willing to do it, he's just taking his sweet time. My DH wasn't willing for the longest time. But when he decided to do it, he had an appointment booked pronto albeit that then didn't happen.

Does your Dh fully understand your anxiety about this? I don't think mine did until I told him I'd booked to see a specialist re sterilisation and he realised I was so concerned I was willing to have actual surgery, under a GA.

There is only 1 100% guaranteed option - don't have sex - he might "decide" re vasectomy sooner in that case

Hang on - does female sterilisation cut off blood supply to the ovaries? I'd never heard that. It's not a hysterectomy, hormones don't change.

Agreed- but weirdly the second time someone's had this impression this week. It's an old wives' tale.

Regardless, my understanding is that vasectomy is simpler.

Having it done can cause damage to the blood supply and thus mess with hormones.

Just use spermicide lube with a condom - and effectiveness increases hugely! I think using any two methods together is virtually full proof!

Since my mid teens, I’ve had brief flirtations with various brands of the pill and the diaphragm. Neither suited me.

Now in my early 40s, I’ve used condoms with a number of partners over many years. In fact l can’t remember when l last had sex without a condom.

I’ve been careful but relaxed and never experienced an accident. In the event it did happen l would go for the morning after pill without hesitation. I’ve never considered asking someone to withdraw as well though.
