On a weekday - DH up at 6.20, feeds all animals, sees to fire (logburner), feeds GS. Clears any dishes they use. Hangs out any washing, or puts on racks to dry, puts on washing machine if needed. Maks sure GS is washed and teeth brushed. Then wakes me at 7.15 as he is leaving for work.
As a F/T SAHM I then clean whatever else needs doing (vaccuming, dusting, etc) get GS ready and take him to school. Then do everything up to DH getting in (meal on table most days as he arrives home). At which point I stop and he takes over. Clears dishes, etc. Spends time with GS, reads with him, puts him to bed.
Preps his own and GS's packed lunches for the following day.
He does the main food shopping every week, but I pick up any other items or extra things on the way back from school.
DH does 99% of the gardening.
DS does the ironing every week.
ON his days off, he does everything

when in the short periods i wasn't working and he was

  1. cooking - me always dinner on table - consider it only fair
  2. cleaning - me
  3. ironing - me except his stuff he would do his own uniform anc clothes
  4. hoovering - me
5 food shopping - together
  1. gardening - me
  2. changing beds/towels, etc - me
  3. washing - both
9 putting out rubbish/sorting recycling - him 10. arranging things. eg docs/dentist appts. - me social stuff, babysitters, etc . - me 11. DIY - neither

i think its only fair if you are a sahm that you do most of the housework - i do not think it fair that one person goes out to work all day and has to share housework to a large degree.

howeer when both working there shoud be a more equiv division of labout depending on circumstances

Cooking - me if absolutely unavoidable.
Cleaning - me. Or my mother when she feels sorry for me!
Ironing - never mention that word!!!
Hoovering - me, every day, I love it.
Food shopping - my 'favourites' list at Tesco.com
Gardening - mum and dad help me every few months in one go.
Changing beds - me, not as often as we should.
Washing, me again. If mum helps she shrinks everything and I get cross!
Rubbish etc. Me
Arranging things - me.
(forgetting these arrangements - also me)
DIY - me! again I love it.

Who needs a man Ok I do but only to cook!
