What time do you go to bed?
What time do you get up?

Average 6, I struggle to switch off. After fighting to get DS to sleep then cleaning up after him, I feel like I need to have a couple hours "me" time and even watch tv with a cuppa.

Frownette · 12/07/2020 01:41

Hardly anything at the moment as I'm in DV situation but getting out Monday.

Not a good sleeper anyway.

@Doggybiccys that sounds so tiring

Pamwasdreaming · 12/07/2020 01:46

Sweet shag all! What about you @Karenista ? Why the interest in our sleep? Halo

Doggybiccys · 12/07/2020 02:32

@Frownette - surprising thing is I rarely feel sleepy tired and never nap during the day. It’s just very depressing being awake all night every night as much as exciting Mumsnet is!

I hope you can get away from your situation on Monday FlowersFlowers

DramaAlpaca · 12/07/2020 02:35

About six hours during the week and ten or more at weekends to catch up. It's not ideal.

BitOfFun · 12/07/2020 02:44

Generally, unless I'm in pain, I could sleep on a washing line. I get loads of sleep.

Loubylou9162 · 12/07/2020 03:31

9 hours most the time, dependant on dd.
I wake up a couple of times in the night, but usually go back off to sleep quite quickly.
I’m up right now with a teething toddler 😫 we’ve been up an hour so far! Hoping she sleeps in a bit in the morning!

Abi86 · 12/07/2020 04:08

O sleep, O gentle sleep, Nature's soft nurse, how have I frightened thee. That thou no more will weigh my eyelids down, And steep my senses in forgetfulness?

Oblomov20 · 12/07/2020 04:19

8+ hours.
I need a lot of sleep. I too have been known to sleep 16, like a pp.

PhilCornwall1 · 12/07/2020 05:09

5 hours for me is a good night, it can vary between zero and 5 hours. I've got Rheumatoid Arthritis and when that's flared up, I don't sleep.

FatherBrownsBicycle · 12/07/2020 05:51

5:10am I woke up this morning.

After going to bed at 10:00 last night I was still awake when DH got in bed at 11:30pm.

I’m so tired of being tired.

Dingdong99 · 12/07/2020 05:52

I can't sleep more than 6 hours 15 mins, I just always wake up! So I always feel knackered

I always start waking up at 4 regardless when I've gone to bed. Then I'm properly awake from 4.15/20am

Wish I could get a bit more

laughingandcrying · 12/07/2020 06:02

@Doggybiccys Shock when I had that little sleep when my baby was newborn I felt like I was losing the plot. Do you struggle to focus etc?

ComeOnEileen11 · 12/07/2020 06:02

Around 5-6. Newborn is up about 3 times per night. Toddler begins the day at 5ish. I like to be in bed by 9 but rarely achieve it. Its not often that I can't always though.

laughingandcrying · 12/07/2020 06:03

And to answer op question I go to bed at 9:30pm-10pm and am up at 5-6am. I usually get about 7 hours but would love 8.

ComeOnEileen11 · 12/07/2020 06:03
  • sleep not always
beautifulmonument · 12/07/2020 07:03

In bed by 10pm, up at 6-6:30am

Lickmylegs0 · 12/07/2020 07:10

After nearly a year of DS continually waking up in the night, I’m in bed at 8/9pm - up at 6am. But am awake frequently during the night. Sometimes fall asleep during the day (DS’s nap time).

Tamtam86 · 12/07/2020 07:20

Not enough!! I need about 9 hours and that's what I used to get before kids.

Now I get about 6.5 broken sleep if I'm lucky (bed at about 10.30, up around 5, usually 1-2 wake ups) hoping it improves as children get older (they are 2 and 6 months) as I'm bloody knackered!

CarlottaValdez · 12/07/2020 07:45

A lot 7-8 if all goes well. Quite often less if something (or someone -DS) wakes me up.

thunderthighsohwoe · 12/07/2020 08:06

Toddler in bed by 7, work from then until about 10/10.30 (teacher) then toddler awake at 5/5.30ish. DP often gets her up but by that point I’m awake and need a wee.

Summer holidays are better for sleep. Of course no lie ins, but I’ve usually finished my evenings of work by mid August so can get a couple of weeks if going to bed at 9ish.

Caramel78 · 12/07/2020 08:16

Asleep by about 11 and awake by 7:30 usually so about 8.5 hours. If I get less than 8 I feel tired. If I get less than 7 I feel shattered. It goes the other way too though and if I sleep more than about 9.5 hours I feel really groggy and lethargic all day.

DazzlingDee · 12/07/2020 08:21

I average 6 hours a night. Generally 12.30-6.30
I don’t really feel tired but I know I need to sleep more so I am going to start aiming to be asleep by 12 this week, 11.30pm the next etc. I’d like to have 7-8 hours a night.

TigerDater · 12/07/2020 08:23

7.5 hours average. I’ve worked from home for over 20 years so I often nap in the day to top up if necessary. If I’m worried about something I often wake at 4 and struggle to go back to sleep. Eventually I’ll force myself out of bed to make peppermint tea with milk. Sounds gross I know, but that with paracetamol is like switching out a light 😂

AuntImmortelle · 12/07/2020 08:44

Sleep is better now my kids are older and sleep well themselves BUT it's never been the same since having kids.

So working week: in bed 10/10.30 and alarm goes at 6.30. I have a pattern of a few nights where is don't ever feel like I'm properly asleep until 6am followed by a good few nights of great sleep. DH falls asleep really quickly but it takes me longer.
