DH downloaded Tinder

whatsupnow12 · 05/07/2020 14:29

I just found a setting in my iPhone I never knew I had. It shows all the apps downloaded across our family sharing group, by user. I was checking out what DS had downloaded and then out of curiosity looked at DH.

Soooo, he downloaded Tinder back in 2018. I've had zero suspicions and thought we were all good. I don't know what to think or do with this now? I'm very tempted to just ignore, but keep an eye out for any other signs of cheating. Should I look for anything? What would I even look for? I think I want to bury my head in the sand tbh.

You could sign up to Tinder on your browser.

GroovyGrove · 05/07/2020 16:19

@Sexnotgender but her dp did download the app.

And as you said he's your exh, so I guess he was projecting

MyLifeWTF · 05/07/2020 16:20

In my experience things like this are never innocent. Once you've found one thing more and more crop up. If it was innocent surely he would have told you. Go with your gut it's always right.

GroovyGrove · 05/07/2020 16:21

@whatsupnow12 make sure you have his number saved in your phone your using or device as it automatically connects you to contacts

I totally understand that, was just commenting that people do mix things up.

Projecting/thick as shit, take your pick.

dworky · 05/07/2020 16:40

Just to let you know it is possible to hide apps so just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

CatEatCatWorld · 05/07/2020 16:58

Hey OP, that Emma text could be a well known scam. Google it. If you reply (cos almost everyone knows an Emma) they ask you to send money or some such.

Oh shit?! This is my work phone I've downloaded it on!!! Do all my colleagues now know I'm 'on' Tinder? Fuck.

OP posts:
GroovyGrove · 05/07/2020 16:59

@Sexnotgender I totally understand that too. I just feel so strong about women especially being aware of their relationship before it gets so bad it causes damage long term

If I had paid a little more attention I wouldn't of been treated with fanny shots in Boxing Day 🤦🏽‍♀️😂🤣

That's a really good point actually. Does seem scam-ish.

@whatsupnow12 No it just show them put first or more regularly in your stack.

So if bob from work is on tinder, he will appear in your stack of men.

Perfect, I'll save his number in my work phone now then. Grin

Have you checked his social media pages for anyone called Emma? If he has Facebook look up click on the search bar at the top and see all to see who he's been looking up!

DaisyRaisin · 05/07/2020 17:15

As a PP so cleverly spotted "Emma" is used commonly in scams because it's such a popular name

I really wouldn’t download Tinder on a work phone, It would’ve been a disciplinary offence for me. Especially with the opportunity to scope out all your work contacts who might be there ... although they shouldn’t be using their office numbers either!

whatsupnow12 · 05/07/2020 17:23

I've downloaded it now anyway. I'm not using my real name or a pic of me. Haven't found DH on there. Will prob check back periodically now my suspicions have been raised.

Look on his phone and in the App Store look at his purchases, if it's still on his phone it will say open next to it, if not it's that cloud symbol to re download it. Least you'll know if it's still on there or not.

MyLifeWTF · 05/07/2020 18:42

Even if Emma is a scam, Tinder isn't. What's the likelihood of him having downloaded tinder and Emma is a scam?

sociallydistained · 05/07/2020 18:45

In case anyone else hadn't said it yet... the Emma text is a fake that got sent to a few people I know. It is my name so I had a few random people texting me saying was I really In hospital! So strange!

Grobagsforever · 05/07/2020 19:54

There could be plenty of innocent explanations e.g mucking up with a friend.

PilatesPeach · 05/07/2020 20:00

Yes OP - Emma - I had a text from an Emma asking me to send her some money as she was in hospital with a broken leg or ankle or similar and I texted and said which Emma the reply was "it's Emma" no surname given and when I called the number it was unobtainable this is def a scam

youhave4substitutes · 05/07/2020 20:03

You can ignore the text, it's a scam.

Tinder, he might've looked at it for 30 minutes to try and find someone he knew, got bored and deleted it. That's exactly what me and a friend did

tarasmalatarocks · 05/07/2020 20:32

The Tinder thing is a difficult one because I know several people who downloaded it out of sheer nosiness and entertainment value to see if they knew anyone local on it! I would however check for a while if it showed up in battery use on a phone , simply because it could be something, could be nothing

KitBumbleB · 05/07/2020 22:07

I downloaded a sugar daddy app as a joke with workmates one lunch time as we all wanted a snoop. Was completely innocent, could be something similar?

ravenmum · 06/07/2020 12:22

He might, of course, have downloaded it because he thought you were on it ...
