If you have mean speaking to someone online and sorting out arrangements to meet up would you expect them to come to your area if you live 40mins away from each other. Dont know if I'm old fashioned or not.

Disagree with what l have said by all means. But don’t take half of what l said out of context.

Did you suggest him coming to your area first? Just cause you mention the nice beaches etc.

My partner and I live 2 hours away from each other so arranged a meet up halfway for our first proper date. We both researched some nice country pubs and agreed on one. There was no assumption on his part that we would meet at either person's house. We didn't meet via OLD, though as it was through friends at an event when we initially met. We met like this a fair few times before doing a house visit.

I'd say if there are alarm bells ringing for you, then don't do it. Obviously at the moment (until pubs/restaurants are open) you are limited on where you meet, but you could meet in a public place/park for a picnic. If he doesn't want to go for that, then you know what to expect...

Pffft, I wouldn't give him a first date if his suggestion is his house.

Talk about low effort - wants to skip straight to sex, plus get you to put yourself at risk, plus you spend money to get there!!
