Please tell me this is thrush...

Sorry, this is going to be information overshare. I've never had thrush before so don't know the symptoms. Itchy labia, a lot more discharge than normal, mostly white but noticed a tinge of greeny yellow today, slight burning when I pee.

I slept with "D"P on Saturday (drunkenly) for the first time since I found out that he has been messaging other women arranging to meet for sex. Swears he never went through with the meetings, so agreed to try again. Symptoms started on Monday morning.

Please tell me it's just thrush and nothing more sinister...? I will be going to get tested regardless but don't know how long that will take due to the restrictions in place.

Poor you get some thrush treatment, see if it helps.

Get the test pronto. Greenish discharge is not typical of Thrush. Oh and get rid of "D" P too. Just say that the sex isn't doing it for you.

Can you get a postal test? They can be quite quick. Let’s hope it’s thrush but it’s the discharge colour that would have me alarmed for something more

I've had thrush throughout my adult life and never had a "greenish tinge" Get tested pronto!

Buy some OTC thrush medication and also Google sexual.health in your area, lots of places will send you a self test kit in the post. If it gets any worse call the doctors as well they might prescribe some antibiotics just in case

Could be bacterial vaginosis - it’s like a thrush but caused by another resident microbe, so not an STD.
Boots can sell you both thrush and BV treatments without prescription.

Given the timing it’s unlikely an STD. But still - who needs to wonder.
In your place - I’d demand he produced a clean STD test. Just to be sure.

Definitely get tested. Superdrug have tests that you can order online.

Itching sounds like thrush but the burning doesn't. Ring GP or local sexual health clinic as I think this would be deemed as essential care and you'll be seen pretty quick.

Sounds more like an STD. If the symptoms disappear still get tested and treated if indicated as some STDs are not that symptomatic but lead to pelvic inflammatory disease which can lead to other problems.
No one will bat an eyelid at the clinic.

DD1 has been both on her own account and as moral support for friends.

I suffer from recurring thrush linked to my menstrual cycle, it never has a greenish tinge. Could be BV like another poster said but I would err on the side of caution and get it checked out. It will also put your mind at ease.

It is almost certainly an STI, with all those symptoms, I'm sorry. Don't delay getting checked out. With swift treatment you should make a full recovery.

Book to see your GP and they can test you or go to your local STD clinic, that is what they are there for.
You are no doubt feeling fragile due to finding out your partner is a cheat. Good luck

The most common cause of green vaginal discharge is a sexually transmitted infection known as trichomoniasis. The discharge often has a foul odour and is typically more yellowish-green than pure green.

Get rid of "D"P. And get treatment. Fast. It's not thrush.

You maybe able to get a free STD check by post, the NHS/local council supply them free of charge, check your area.
It can take two weeks for STD symptoms to show though.

Don't mess about with OTC thrush treatments, you need to get a proper diagnosis and start treatment.

Book in for tests. In meantime, Boots for thrush and bacterial vaginosis tests/treatments. It could be BV but could just as easily be something sexually transmitted e.g. trichomoniasis. The greenish tinge is a sign of infection, most likely. Thrush isnt an infection so you dont see that sort of thing, I doubt its thrush but I'm not a dr.

BV has clear watery discharge. Not green.

Lot of symptom overlap between STI and non STI vulval health issues. A new STI is unlikely to have come on that quickly. You will worry about it if don’t get checked out, so get a test and then you’ll be an informed position.

£6.99 Asda you can get a Canestan test which will indicate if it is bacterial needing antibiotics (BV, Trichomoniasis) or thrush-type. It wont rule out STIs but at least you would know something a bit more. Seems a bit quick for STI symptoms to pop up, you have to wait 2 weeks to test for Gonhorrea/Chlmydia.

I think you should get checked out to be on the safe side.

How old are you? I had a greenish discharge in my mid 40s and a nurse at my GP said it can be part of the peri menopause. I just had it a couple of times.
