Please tell me this is thrush...

Sorry, this is going to be information overshare. I've never had thrush before so don't know the symptoms. Itchy labia, a lot more discharge than normal, mostly white but noticed a tinge of greeny yellow today, slight burning when I pee.

I slept with "D"P on Saturday (drunkenly) for the first time since I found out that he has been messaging other women arranging to meet for sex. Swears he never went through with the meetings, so agreed to try again. Symptoms started on Monday morning.

Please tell me it's just thrush and nothing more sinister...? Sad I will be going to get tested regardless but don't know how long that will take due to the restrictions in place.

Thrush (Candida albicans infection) produces a thick white discharge that looks like cheesy curds, and itches terribly. It is not usually green - in fact the albicans part of its latin name means “white”.
You need to get a full STI check and decide whether you really want to stay married to a cheating shit who puts your health and fertility at risk.

Have had thrush a lot never green or burning, could be a bad cystitis infection? Sounds a bit coincidental Defo worth considering
Please get rid of this dopey creep and don't look back

Cystitis would be one explanation for the burning when peeing but I was a regular sufferer for many years and never had a discharge. Painful urination is also associated with certain STIs. I’m afraid it does look like an STI. Get yourself treated and get him gone. STIs are pretty easily treated nowadays so you should be feeling better soon after you’re able to access treatment.

I think a few days would probably not be long enough for you to be demonstrating symptoms of something he'd given you on Saturday maybe.

But we're (mostly) not doctors and haven't assessed you- you need to speak to your GP.

And dump this skanky cheat please.

Then you'd be wrong, I'm afraid.

OP, please seek proper medical advice, don't rely on over the counter tests or treatments.

And dump the lying bastard.

Just to update everyone, I've had a few days treatment of Vagisil and now everything looks/feels/smells normal down below. I've got some thinking to do though!

It is absolutely worth still getting an STI check done. There are postal options available on the NHS in some areas, but you can also just get a private test sent to you from Boots, etc. They are not expensive and it's worth it for your peace of mind.

JustKittenAround · 10/06/2020 02:50

Please go get a test no matter what. Please. Even without symptoms you could still have something. Do the right thing for yourself.

My best friend had the same symptoms as you that showed up just as fast. They cleared up when she treated what she thought a regular thrush problem.... nope. Turns out it was something else. It “cleared” with treatment but it wasn’t actually treated. Green discharge is a freaking sign of bad news.

Please please please get a full STI check as soon as possible. You don't know what 'hidden' STI's you may have been exposed too.
