To wonder how people in abusive relationships are coping during lockdown?

Getting out of the house is a big thing when you're in an abusive relationship. One of the key freedoms often controlled is just that. Sometimes it literally involves him guarding the door, not letting you pass. Or slamming you against the wall by the throat if you try to. 😔

So being allowed out on legitimate business such as to school or work is part of the oxygen that lets you survive.

I've been thinking with some deep concern how people are doing if they're shut in. Because now he'll be able to say it's not just me but the police who'll keep you in here.

Everybody ok?

(by the way, I'm out of it now and in lockdown elsewhere, a bit lonely and life in tatters, but ok)

Hi there, @Marshmello - we're just bobbing on here to bump your thread and hopefully others will be along very soon to add their own thoughts.

It's an issue that, sadly, is affecting so many people in the current climate - a real worry. It feels like a good time to link to our domestic violence web guide here where folk will find useful links for seeking RL help.

Stay safe. Flowers
