I have been so stupid

Yes, I totally accept this is all my fault so please don't give me any more grief on that front.
My husband has never been a great communicator and for years has not really given me any attention sexually. I know I should have discussed this with him but instead stupidly I decided to have an online affair. It was wonderful, I felt appreciated and special (again totally false I know) but it put a huge smile on my face and made me feel happy- until he saw my messages. He wants a divorce and has asked me to leave.
My world has fallen apart, I want to die. We have children together. I don't know what to do next.

Have you admitted to your husband that this wasn't just an online affair? In another post you'd at that you've met up with a man for a year and we're asking for advice about having sex with him whilst on your period - have you told your husband all of this? I doubt it very much so any reconciliation is built on more deception isn't it?

SueEllenMishke · 27/02/2020 07:32

It wasn't stuck up advice.
If my husband did what you did I would be divorcing him. For lots of people infidelity is unforgivable.

Compared to another thread

However I know how your other half feels as I don't particularly enjoy sex and to be honest do it begrudgingly whenever dh wants it.

Plus meeting to shag the "online affair"...?

I fail to see how anyone gave 'stuck up advice' 🤦‍♀️😂 - you asked for an opinion and people gave it. From here nobody was harsh and actually considering what you did they were pretty tame. You think I'm 24 hours your marriage is fixed? 🤷‍♀️

😂😂😂 all I have to say on this matter.

Some PP's said to get a solicitor which was really wise advice. Thankfully you ignored it though OP and now have a wonderful relationship once again 😂😂😂

Hypergear · 27/02/2020 08:03

I ignored all your stuck up advice

Good luck in your failing marriage OP... you’ll need it!

KatherineJaneway · 27/02/2020 08:11

Thankfully I ignored all your stuck up advice and had an open and honest talk with my husband.

PP were trying to help you. Their advice was not harsh but honest.

You've had one conversation with your dh, that will not mean he instantly starts communicating well, your sex life will suddenly become fabulous and he forgets what you did. This is a temporary patch because you are probably both fearful of leaving a comfy situation. There is a heck of a lot more work to do to mend your relationship and you both have to work hard on it not to mention have the commitment to try.

Good luck.

I am really pleased that talking it through has helped no end. This was obviously a watershed moment. Keep the lines of communication open!
