Ex has just threatened me and stolen a set of my house keys

STBXDH was dropping DS to my house this evening after having him after school. We try to keep things amicable.

We ended up having a blazing row and he pushed me into a corner and held a just boiled kettle over me. I managed to push past him and run out into the back garden and I heard the front door slam and his car drive off. I've just realised he's stolen a set of house keys from my french doors.

I want to call the police but SIL (who I called because we are very close) said it will antagonise him so don't.

I don't know what to do. He has form for being spiteful and I'm not happy going to bed knowing he can access my house.

Threatening you with a kettle of boiling water and stealing keys sounds very scary - no wonder you are feeling shaky today with shock

Definitely get a non-mol order and never allow him back to your home

Well done for calling the police, I know it's hard because it makes it all real and means you have to deal with it head on.

I've had my fair share of bad experiences but my god I gasped when you said he held a just boiled kettle above you. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck.

I hate to say this but you know who would have found you when he'd legged it if he'd got the boiling water on you? Your little one. Try to focus on the potential damage to him to get your head away from casting him as a psychological abuser - all physical abusers are this until the first time they physically hurt you.

You poor thing ThanksThanksThanks
