DH shouts up the stairs. Why can’t he walk nearer?

DH drives me nuts. Instead of just walking upstairs to have a conversation he stays downstairs and shouts up. He usually shouts a question that requires a long answer and then he gets annoyed when he can’t hear the long answer.
It really sets me on edge. Not sure why he does it other than he’s a bit lazy or it’s because it’s a family trait.

My dh does this and i just ignore. If he wants something he can come and talk to me.

My husband used to do this. It’s taken years of ignoring him and pretending that I can’t hear him to break the habit.
