My OH doesn't stop. Constant gasping, groaning, burping, constant gross. I don't think he has any idea. He didn't used to be like this, just crept up over time. The more he does it, the more he does it.

FFS!!!!!

It's like living with a gross old man, he's only in his 30's, god knows what he will be like when he is old!1

My friend says that taking her AD makes her burp a lot. Maybe his medication is partly responsible. Also look at diet but if not then ask your GP.

It's tricky to bring it up without hurting his feelings though.

Thanks everyone. Some wise words.

Emz start your own thread and use paragraphs.

HomoHeinekenensis · 08/02/2019 09:10

Emz I thought for a minute the OP had changed her usename and none of it made sense. Start your own thread and MN will help you.

Cosmicunicorn321 · 08/02/2019 09:31

**also i swear to god he sometimes travels around in a cloud of farts.
That had me howling

Seriously though, sounds like he needs to see a dr. That cant be comfortable for him either. Some simple medication could sort that out.

What are you getting out of this relationship now?.

What keeps you still with this man?. You sound resigned to being with him forever more. You cannot stay with him simply because he parents your child a bit and takes the dogs out. He is no example to his child and is no partner to you either. Would you want your child to treat his partner like this, no you would not. Its not a good enough relationship for you either; why is your relationship bar so very low here.

Canthearthroughmyglasses · 08/02/2019 11:39

Does he have any health issues? It can indicate underlying issues that he may need to have checked out.

PussGirl · 08/02/2019 11:55

Giardia infection can cause revolting burping and farting.

WhoKnewBeefStew · 08/02/2019 12:09

I bought some charcoal tablets for my errrrr windy ness Shock and they worked really well. Got them from Holland and Barrett. Might be worth a try?

Sarcelle · 08/02/2019 12:23

If they can restrain from a fart or belch in public they can stop themselves at home. They are not flatulent they are complacent. Everybody has wind, and there are some occasions when it just cannot be stopped (not me obvs, I'm a lady) but not all the time. Massively disrespectful to the other people he shares space with. Not funny, just gross.

‘He travels around in a cloud of farts’

OMG that MADE MY DAY! So funny OP! I can’t stop laughing!

MitziK · 08/02/2019 20:36

People give their dogs charcoal biscuits to combat the Smog of Death effect.

You can buy human charcoal biscuits/crackers online - packaged as a delicacy. Could that be worth a try?

The sighing could be from anxiety, especially if he's cutting down his ADs, but I'm going to grass up my OH on similar - one of the few amusements of my life when he was very ill with depression was the seconds as he went to sleep, as it sounded like somebody had dropped an anvil on an elephant playing the trombone as he relaxed.

He didn't smell bad, though - it was just a very long, loud B flat with both a crescendo and diminuendo.

If he's eating shit, it's not surprising he smells like it, though. If he won't cook for himself, cook healthier things and he eats them or goes without. And that might reduce both the sound/smell and his waistline from bloating, which might at least get him into tracksuit bottoms, rather than the Dressing Gown.

Bluebellforest1 · 12/02/2019 19:14

Just had to revisit this, it’s 19.10 and ‘d’ h is in the dressing gown of doom, grunting, groaning, sighing, and the odd little whimper...I await (with bated breath) the belching and farting that’ll happen soon.
Delightful, I’ll be in bed with a book by 9pm latest!

Closetbeanmuncher · 12/02/2019 19:23

What about stuffing a rolled up pair of socks in his mouth and shoving a cork up his arse....

The dog could also 'eat' the dressing gown Grin

We were both gardening today, in this unseasonably mild weather. Both weeding, both making the same effort. He had to grunt or groan loudly with every weed lifted.
After a while he said “when did bending down become so hard?”
I said “or so noisy?”
He then managed to rein it in for 5 minutes or so, he knows what he’s doing! Just doesnt give a toss about anyone else.

MitziK · 17/02/2019 10:46

Does his back or joints hurt? Tired all the time?

His gardening sounds more like me doing anything when I'm having a autoimmune flare. Which might explain the Arse of Evil, too.

Bluebellforest1 · 17/02/2019 16:42

mitziK
No, he just likes making noises. And being gross.

TheHorseYouRodeInOn · 17/02/2019 18:51

Add noisy eating, slurping of tea and you are talking about my dp!
His family seem to think it's funny when he farts. I don't Angry
Luckily we don't live together!
