Husband working on New Year’s Eve our of town - cheating

Hello, my husband works as a tape jointer. He told me about 3 weeks ago that they offered him double pay to work from 31/12 to 2/12 in different town. I didn’t think much of it but when I mention it to other people they automatically assume he is cheating. Now I’m getting paranoid and starting to think that it doesn’t really make much sense. He worked in different town only twice in last two years. So it not common thing. Plus how many people do actually work on 1st January? What do you guys think? I’m now trying to think of ways to check on him but the only thing I can think of is randomly FaceTime him tonight and I’ve done it already no answer...

My Dbro is on call over the Xmas period and I can assure you he's not cheating . Honestly I wouldn't worry.

I’m in bed. Also on call - definitely not cheating 🤣 if you’ve no other reason to worry, then don’t. He’s probably thinking of earning more to cover Christmas costs.

Suspicious. Just keep trying to get hold of him. If he's contactable, picks up and is happy to facetime you at midnight, I wouldn't be worried. If he doesn't answer his phone or it's off or "out of battery" until tomorrow then I'd assume cheating much more likely.

I don't think it's that uncommon in certain sectors, do you know what job he's working on ?

If he's working though how available is he to answer, have you had other suspicions ?

I have never seen my DH payslip, I think if I had to ask to see it, my relationship is already over. So probably wouldn't bother.

With the animals thing. What I didn't get was why the PP automatically thought of animal workers over nurses for example. Bar staff - well obviously but farmers and vets just don't spring to my mind.

My oh used to work in oxford doing the same thing he worked all different holidays and times but he didn’t work at midnight maybe ask him to phone for New Years?

It doesn't sound good but there could be a perfectly reasonable explanation.
I'd be doing a bit more snooping.
Do you have access to his deices?
Could you find his gym bag and see what is in that?
It's often there people find 2nd phones, condoms, etc....

I'd be suggesting to OH how the extra earned could be spent - holiday, decorating, new sofa....what does he say when you comment thus @Lovelyivy?

Our IT staff always work over bank holiday weekends, it's the bes time for them to get maintenance done. So I can easily see someone in redecorating being paid extra to work over the NYE to get things done when it's quiet.
