Broke bf is pissing me off

sabrina1234 · 04/11/2018 10:33

I don't know if I'm being selfish but my broke boyfriend is really starting to get on my nerves. I don't mind helping out whenever he's in money trouble but I feel like he is really ungreatful. The other day he needed money because he is in overdraft, and had no money for food so without hesitation I transferred him 100 from my savings! He decided then to spend 250 on getting a company to write his essay for him, which really got on my nerves. He said he's been struggling with it but I said he's capable and smart enough to do it and he says I'm not supportive or understanding! When I'm there encouraging him that he can do it. It annoys me because first of all were both broke and second of all he throws it back in my face saying I don't understand him. If I didn't understand him or his situation why would I be helping him?! Instead he mentions his girl friend from uni and says "she would understand" and "doesn't my happiness matter to you" which was the biggest dig ever. Then the next day we didn't speak about it until he mentions "you haven't asked if I ate today" which I usually, and says don't worry I don't want nothing from you and you didn't ask because you don't want to get me food. And it's like well what did I just do for you yesterday?! And on the flipside he's saying that I need to apologise for calling him a user. Right now were not even speaking. I don't know if I'm overreacting or what to even do right now

A pathetic, using wimp. Get yourself a real man.

BettyDuMonde · 04/11/2018 11:49

Uh. Wtf?

It’s not your responsibility to feed and pay for a grown man.

Run the fuck away fast - there are an infinite number of better options available to you than this asshat.

LadyBathory · 04/11/2018 11:50

Ltb you can do better, get out now before your any deeper into the relationship!

Villanellesproudmum · 04/11/2018 11:51

Eh? Is he 15?

PinkHeart5914 · 04/11/2018 11:51

Why do some women have such low standards? God it’s depressing.

Seriously OP his using you, you know his using you so why are you putting up with it? If you act like a door mat you know what, people will treat you as such.

You won’t ever see the money again. Now up your standards and dump him for crying out loud

Athena51 · 04/11/2018 11:52

He sounds awful. In addition my job involves me in dealing with academic misconduct and it is wrong on so many levels. It's cheating plain and simple.

If he gets caught using essay mills (which are often rubbish as well as expensive and immoral) then he can be chucked out of uni and no one will touch him.

It's not your job to subsidise him and sort him out. Bin the cheating little scrote.

HoustonBess · 04/11/2018 11:53

What's the point in him?

silkpyjamasallday · 04/11/2018 11:56

Run run run as fast as you can. I had a boyfriend like this, rinsed me for £5k. Get out now, be with someone who contributes positively to your life this user is not worth your time, he will bleed you dry and leave you feeling worthless

Bananalanacake · 04/11/2018 11:57

I hope you don't live with him.

NotSureThisIsWhatIWant · 04/11/2018 12:00

Honestly! If he has already shown his colours, do not waste your time in this dishonest looser. He is using your savings already to do academic fraud, it will only get worse and less ethic as he progresses. Run while you can (and do not give him ANY money.

Laureline · 04/11/2018 12:00

Leave. He’s a user, a liar and a thief. You deserve better.

7yo7yo · 04/11/2018 12:04

Why are you with him??
Start telling him your skint and need to borrow some money!

MeteorMedow · 04/11/2018 12:08

Oh OP. I’ve had a few friends recently tie themselves up with guys like this (we’re in our early mid twenties).
Two of them didn’t leave the guys as we advised and it ended like this...

  • They were about £500 in
  • He accused them of ‘gaslighting/mental cruelty’ when he didn’t get what he wanted (usually more money).
  • It became increasingly more apparent he was still hung up on his ex (who he hadn’t used as an atm yet somehow she understood him more 🤔)
  • They cheater (both with randomers on nights out) and blamed my friends for not caring enough about them.
  • They were TOTALLY unsupportive when needed - one friend got pregnant and the other lost her job- both guys totally flaked and were crazy selfish and uncaring.

I don’t imagine you will- but please dump this guy and run there’s no happy ending here!!

junebirthdaygirl · 04/11/2018 12:11

Look he is using every ploy in the book...they are sp predictable.
Old girlfriend..tick.
Don't care..tick.
Poor me.. tick.
Waster of money...tick
. l could go on.
Do you expect him to make sure you eat every day..no..because your a proper grown up.

darklady64 · 04/11/2018 12:16

It's unanimous OP. Please listen. From the outside it's as plain as day that the "man" is a complete loser flake.

He cadges money off you.
He then spunks that up that wall by cheating on his uni work (which will have severe consequences if - or rather when - he's caught)
He then plays you off against his other girlfriend (if she was so great and understanding, why is she an ex? Was her understanding of him so great that she dumped his sorry arse?)
He then does the emotional blackmail game playing about you not asking if he's eaten (you are not his mum and he's carefully manipulated that one so whatever you answer you can't win)

Any one of these is a dumping offence. You say you are not speaking at the moment - I'd just leave it there and never speak to him again.

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 04/11/2018 12:18

Oh my god run! He’s a childish twat.

toherdoor · 04/11/2018 12:26

He's a gaslighting, using cocklodging prick. Block him and never contact him again.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 04/11/2018 12:36

PinkHeart, Why do you do that? Castigate a woman who is already feeling bad?

Please go away with your dismissive "Why do women have such low standards?" shit. Along with the ubiquitous and cringey "God it's depressing". Biscuit

Maybe have a little think about why some women, at some point in their lives, fall for this nonsense. OP isn't on her own, we are legion. We may not all find ourselves in this position but many of us do. We are not stupid and we don't have low standards but thank you for writing us off.

Go and be an unhelpful misery somewhere else, do.
^^

lifebegins50 · 04/11/2018 12:36

doesn't my happiness matter to you

Highly manipulative statement. You are not a bad person however he is playing on your kindness and empathy.

This is not a healthy way to have a relationship.

Oblomov18 · 04/11/2018 12:54

I wouldn't have put up with this, this far!

Stop feeding the Beast.... Hmm

Alysanne · 05/11/2018 05:32

He paid someone to right his essay? Fingers crossed if he's still at university they use (I think it was called turnitin software and he gets caught)

You gave him money for FOOD. He abused this trust and instead blew it on an essay as he was too lazy/stupid to do it. It's theft.

He's manipulating you and if his university girlfriend is so amazing she can have him. Tell him where to stick it and spend your money on yourself.

Unicyclethief · 05/11/2018 05:42

Yeah, fuck him off, he is a user and he won’t even be able to pass uni. Who wants that kind of loser?

mermaid30 · 05/11/2018 05:45

Ahhhh I too am going through this selfish behaviour with my boyfriend- I will be getting rid....

You're better than that, just like me!

Could you live with that forever??

A man who isn't financially responsible?? Nah thanks!
