I'm having a tough time of it at the moment.
Came home from work to find a bunch of flowers and a bottle of wine on my doorstep. With an internet link in the envelope.
He made me a playlist on Spotify!
I'm sprawled over the sofa, looking at my flowers, sipping wine and sofa dancing to my play list!
Good guys are out there!

I work til 10 most nights and DH has to be up early for work so we don’t see much of each other in the evening.

As soon as I’m in from work he makes me a cuppa and brings me biscuits, we watch a bit of telly and have a little chat then he makes me another cuppa before he goes to bed leaving me time to just chill for a bit.

When he cut my food up for me when I was breastfeeding ds two years ago.

Making me a cup of tea in the mornings.

Giving me a kiss on the cheek if he gets up before me.

Picking me up a new PlayStation game every now and then.

Picking up wine on a Friday night.

fruityb · 09/10/2018 19:52

And I warm up his side as I always go to bed first - I didn’t realise this was something lots of people did!

Nquartz · 09/10/2018 19:52

Buys me a double decker every now & again, it's my favourite chocolate bar ☺

DH looks after the kids in the evening while I work - each Monday he's taken to getting them to 'help' him clean the house before he puts them to bed. Sounds simple but the boys are 21m and 9m so it's not really that easy. and I'm the one who trashes it every day with the boys and actually I do no cleaning apart from a quick wipe in the kitchen . It's so lovely to come home to a clean house after work.

He's also just started studying. He makes it very clear that he's doing it for him, for the boys and for us. He's really busting his balls to make this work and I'm so proud of him

He tells me I look beautiful in the morning even when I resemble a crack hoe.

Alltootrue2u · 09/10/2018 21:56

I can’t remember the last time he did anything nice for me. He even pours himself a drink while I’m cooking dinner and if I want one I have to ask or get it myself Confused

Dorydefender2014 · 09/10/2018 22:13

Always makes the baby’s bottles before he leaves for work so I have fresh ones for when we get up. Brings me flowers at random times. Pulls his weight around the house ie cooks, cleans, irons etc. Is obsessively tidy. Always phones at least once during the day. Tells me he loves me all the time. He’s a total star! I am very lucky.

mononoaware1907 · 10/10/2018 05:15

@NotUmbongoUnchained wow! A very hard language!❤️ well done, husband!

seanna · 10/10/2018 23:31

Does it count he once said in his sleep "you're so beautiful" ?? He also makes me coffee before he leaves for work... And comes back to our bedroom and kisses me goodbye just before he's about to leave :)

Funny thing I was reading this thread the other day feeling half warm hearted at all of your lovely other halves and half saddened that my DP doesn’t do anything like this for me.

I got home that night after being unwell and down for about two months now that I was goingg straight in to bed when I got home and it would be nice if he made tea as I simply didn’t have the strength to. He said okay (he never makes tea and I half expected him to moan about it). I asked him to chuck some hash browns in for me.

So not only did he make me a massive plate of hash browns, he presented them really nicely and put a love heart of ketchup on the plate for me. Something so simple but it really did cheer me up. Who’d have thought!

userxx · 11/10/2018 12:10

DollyDayScream - That's insulting to only children, I'm nothing like that at all. He sounds like a lazy selfish fecker.

TheLastNigel · 11/10/2018 12:15

Makes me a cup of tea every morning. Takes time off work to help with my DD's when needed-they aren't his (but we live together) but he just does it without thinking about it-a huge change from their Dad with whom there were and still are regular arguments over the fact that he can't be around for appointments etc because too busy and important.

Oh how shit my relationship is 😭

6demandingchildren · 11/10/2018 12:45

It took a while for me to find my prince.
first marriage was full of tears but his only good feature was that he was funny but their was more tears than laughter.
my proper husband is wonderful we have been married over 22 years and he has made some silly mistakes during that time but less than 1% tears.
he does so much its hard to list, but my favorite things are
the way he tells me im his everything
how he will cook dinner after working all day as im tired
Takes the kids on days out
wont let anyone be nasty to me
takes my dogs out for a walk/run every night
gets me drinks and sandwiches in bed
shaves my legs
puts up with my mood swings
how hot his lips are when he kisses me for no reason
the way he will hug me when im in the kitchen.

Aroundtheworldandback · 11/10/2018 15:22

He’s the first to hold out his hand to me after a disagreement. Brings me coffee and papers in the morning and if my son needs an early lift to the station, let’s me sleep.

He is generous to a fault and when we are out and he wants to treat me to some clothes, I get shop assistants staring as when I try and look at prices he hides them saying I either like the outfit or I don’t (This one annoys me a bit but he means well), he gives generously to charity and his time to anyone who needs it.

I have honestly never met such a kind, good person and to have met him in my late 30’s and married (2nd time) in our 40’s, I appreciate how lucky I am.
