.... and I think I know what most, if not all of you will say but here goes!
My partner donates his sperm (privately - I already know all the implications) AI or so I believed until I went through his phone last week (the night before I went on holiday) and found out he's slept with someone as they wanted NI! He promised me he wouldn't do this and now I don't know if this is the 1st time!? We've yet to discuss as I only got back late last night. Waiting for him now so we can talk. I love him and that's the problem!!

MyRelationshipIsWeird you beat me to it. There is plenty of scope for a woman to get aroused with her partner then have him/her inject the semen using a syringe as most people do with AI. I would think given that a lot of women cannot orgasm from penetration alone, that NI with a strange bloke wouldn't produce a high chance of orgasm anyway

Oh God I wasn’t using it as an argument for, but that is the only scientifically proven benefit to intercourse over insemination (that I’m aware of)... and yes it usually would involve tactics other than just PIV which is why I said it doesn’t bear thinking about if he is doing NI with that in mind (not envy)

While it is true that women aren't likely to orgasm the first time they work with a donor, it usually takes a few months to get pregnant and several sessions per month. She becomes more relaxed and comfortable and they start happening. Volume and quality of sperm have been shown to be higher from intercourse as well. In all though, one should choose the method they are comfortable with.
