my dh & i have 1 child and are trying to cut back a bit on our weekly shop after a few expensive months which have caught up with us. We currently spend about £65 a week & maybe a bit extra for things we've ran out of from local shop.(making a start having one less bottle of wine a week)

Just wondered what other people spend on their weekly shops and any tips on where we could cut back please before dh has a fit!

Why a "firm word"? It's not like she wrapped the peppers herself, is it. A letter to Morrison's HQ would have been better (unless you're worried about the unecessary use of paper, ink, envelope and stamp, of course)

Mine is £200 a week, but need to put it up to £230 as we are alwasy running out and going over budget. There are 10 of us though.

Wish we had an Asda or one of them other good markets, bet shopping bill would be alot lower then!

lazyemma, If I had sent a letter to Morrisons HQ, then all the customers who were milling around at the time would not have heard, and then would not have started looking at their own shopping in a quizical way, would they? And, a firm word is not the same as having a go - I was very polite and pleasant. (like now!)

i often think about the packaging in super markets and read quite often that people dump it at customer services it does worry me tho that customer services would just put it in the the bin not recycle it

www.mysupermarket.co.uk is a great site, comparing the 4 major UK supermarkets
