Would you life model?

My husband life models for an all male art group. The artist pays him £85 from 1pm to 3.30pm. They are looking for a female model I am tempted but not sure it’s an excellent fee. Would you do it.

When my husband was asked if he was available to model for this men’s group he was at first sceptical because he had never modelled for an all male group before they were always mixed. However he tells me he has never been to a more friendly group who mainly retired professionals.

Absolutely would. In the hope that someone half-decent would sell me the drawing. I'd love one.

VladPutin · 08/04/2018 16:38

is smooth hairless or thin>

Creativepursuits · 08/04/2018 17:39

I think smooth is hairless but frankly the OP comments get sillier by the moment. Clearly a male pretending to be female

Whatdoiladymcbeth · 08/04/2018 17:44

I would do this! Might give me some confidence.

RGNstaffnurse · 08/04/2018 18:15

Creativepursuits. You are one very rude person who has either lead a very sheltered life or not a very nice person.

Far from sheltered life I’ve just had experience of seeing fakes Confused

RGNstaffnurse · 08/04/2018 19:14

Look in the mirror and you will see one.

Oh come on. (And this is my last response to you on this)
How does it look....
Your husband attends Male only life drawing groups for ‘smooth models’
That’s very niche to say the least- see if anyone can google a group like that.
Secondly you just drop in he’s also posed with an erection for a book.

Maybe everyone else will think I’m being ultra suspicious but it doesn’t ring true

I would never life model anyway, but abso-fucking-lutely not after attending classes as an artist.

From my perspective, it always looked like the most awkward thing for the models, especially for the cheapest class I attended. The room was usually pretty cold, and we were sat there in jumpers while the models sometimes looked pretty chilly. There was always lots of awkward faffing round with lights and furniture between each pose with the model being asked to twist this way and that. Lots of people would trundle in late after the modelling had started, leaving the door open and clattering about with boards and chairs. The models were expected to pose on the same grubby rugs and cushions and crappy furniture that was wheeled out every week. And don't expect to see people's work, either - people tended to just scuttle straight off after the class without making so much as eye contact with the model.

I also genuinely think some of the 'artists' that used to turn up were more interested in voyeurism than improving their grasp of anatomy. Phones have never been banned at any of the classes I've attended so be aware that someone might take a sneaky photo of you too.

So my advice would be: take a warm dressing gown. Set your boundaries beforehand, including those for your comfort and privacy - be ready to ask for the heating to be turned up or for people to put their phones away, and to say if a pose isn't one you want to do. And, if at all possible, go as an observer first and decide if it's really something you want to do.
