Bloody dating sites - which one FFS?!

I've been trying OLD on and off for over a year now and it seems to be fucking tedious and a massive waste of time (and money).

I've tried: OKCupid, Tinder, Match, Zoosk and POF. The selection of blokes in my age group is appalling: fugly, creepy, boring, players, entitled, one message and they disappear, lying about their age etc.

I have heard good things about (but haven't yet paid for) Soul Mates - seems like you can't do ANYTHING without coughing up ££.

I paid briefly for Match and Zoosk but found them to be no better than the free ones.

I get out and about socially but all the men I'm attracted to seem to have partners.

Convinced I might have to just allow my fanny to close up and acquire a small family of dogs to cuddle of an evening instead.

I'm not hideous. I'm a young 46, nice face with a podgy middle.

I suppose it's nice not having to fuss about shaving my legs and armpits....

I'm rambling now.

Figs it's normal to feel nervous - especially as you haven't met in person yet - it's a bit like a blind date. I bet he's feeling nervous too.

Don't try and calm yourself with too many drinks beforehand though! maybe a small glass of something if you do drink.

I bet you'll look amazing and I bet you talk all night - I feel a bit giddy myself (I really need to get a lovelife of my own )

My fiancé has tried a few and the one one we met on was a paid one ( my first time on old). He found the paid site much better but then he would as we met 😂

OLD is horrible. There are very few nice men on there.

I've just installed Bumble, but you have to link it to your facebook account, grrrr

Well folks... it's sort of escalated rather quickly and pleasingly. First date was amazing! I could pinch myself. Also saw him on Thursday and have spoken pretty much every day.

So: Bumble actually works! 👍
