Hate husband’s choice

We decided together on a particular stroller, which we both liked. He went to buy it, it was unavailable at the time so he bought a completely different one (both are it the ‘expensive’ category of strollers). The one he got was one we’d considered but was my least favourite. It cannot be returned for refund/exchange due to the conditions of sale. I hate it! The look, colour etc are the opposite of the one we’d chosen together even though (he’s right) it has the same functions. Apart from this being our first baby, we are quite newly married. My question is, is asking him how open he’d be to selling this ugly one (probably for a loss) and starting again worth it? I don’t want to put him off making parenting decisions in the future but I can’t believe I’m stuck with this stroller when it could be such an exciting part of the getting ready for baby process.

A pram is an extension of what I wear

What?! A pram is a device for getting my children around as simply, easily and comfortably as possible.

Yup, sorry! It's like a handbag or umbrella - chosen to coordinate with as much as possible.

Do people have different umbrellas to coordinate with outfits?

There's no way I could choose a pram to coordinate with all my outfits. Or maybe I should choose the outfits to coordinate with the pram? Hmm I really missed something important when DS was a baby.

EmyRoo · 02/02/2018 20:27

Oh no, my pram was really important to me; not at all practical, but I loved it. It was my ‘mum’ thing (apart from DS, of course!). I would really have hated my (now estranged) husband to have chosen it abroad without me. We bought it together.

Not that it made a difference to the marriage, though!

BossyBitch · 02/02/2018 20:37

Nope, sorry, a pram is a device invented to help you lug small children around town without permanently damaging your back.

Also, people who colour-match umbrellas to their outfit? Is this actually a thing? Confused

LadyLoveYourWhat · 02/02/2018 20:41

And what if, gasp!, your husband pushes the pram and it clashes with his outfit?

SleepFreeZone · 02/02/2018 20:47

OP can you say what pram your DH bought and perhaps we can persuade you to love it as it might be a really excellent pram.

ferrier · 03/02/2018 00:23

I'm not bothered if the pram doesn't match dh and I don't think he would be either. I couldn't colour match with every outfit but I would never buy a navy pram. I have three umbrellas at the moment Grin
