Don't worry about it - they get used to it (which is even more annoying )

charliecat · 28/04/2007 22:26

I can barely speak to anyone a few days before I come on.

MadeForIt · 28/04/2007 22:27

yes!!!! I always notice the relief the day I come on...

lucy5 · 28/04/2007 22:27

Yes, I even swung for him with a hammer once. Iwas nailing a picture to the wall at the time

controlfreaky2 · 28/04/2007 22:27

might be better / more realistic asking "anyone NOT feel really bristly..... etc"

PeachesMcLean · 28/04/2007 22:27

Bristly??? Good God yes. Not just with DH either. Anything sets me off. Laundry's a good one. I put laundry away every day of the month. One day a month it drives me absolutely mad.

NotanOtter · 28/04/2007 22:28

Absobloodylutely to the point where his simply breathing pisses me off - does he really need to breathe that loud??? We've got to a point now where I just say to him ok, it's coming up to that time so you're gonna have to bear with me!!!! It is definitely a lot worse when you're not taking the pill. My PMT amongst other things was one of the reasons I went on it!!!

Boco · 28/04/2007 22:34

By 'bristly' do you mean fucking furious by the outrageously loud way that he chews his food, or breathes with a whistle in his nose when he concentrates, or the way when he puts the dryer on, he only EVER puts it on for about 20 minutes, so the washing is NEVER dry, and i only find out too late, like on Monday morning when i need socks and i'm late, or like when he's boiling potatoes, he thinks he's like potato security guard, he has to stand with his hands in front of him, watching the potatoes, preventing him doing ANYTHING else, or occasionally flicking through an organic seed catalogue, that he thinks is FINE to leave on every window sill in stacks along with the bloody SCREWFIX catalogue, that he flicks through every day, but WHY? when he never ever FIXES anything, which is why every tap leaks and every shelf is on the verge of collapse, and NO job that he's EVER started has EVER been finished, and maybe, if he didnt' feel the need to watch potatoes boil, he'd have time to put his pants away, as i'm not his mother, and i think that folding them is quite enough.....

Is that what you mean by bristling at all?

Exactly Boco bristle away.
Think the word 'pisses me off' would have been much more appropriate

peachypie · 28/04/2007 22:43

PMSL Thank god its not just me!
I cant stand anyone or anything when im due on and it lasts for a few days. Huge sigh of relief from everyone when I return to normal.
I have started taking Kalms tablets to try and feel more normal but, no... im as irritable as ever.

Boco · 28/04/2007 22:48

I recommend oil of evening primrose for supressing the rage

KnayedFrot · 28/04/2007 22:50

God I think I must be menopausal because I tend to have a low level bristle all the time whic peaks to a huge eruption once a month.

peachypie · 28/04/2007 22:53

Hi Boco, do you needtake that all month or just when you feel like the incredible hulk is about to make an appearance?

Boco · 28/04/2007 22:58

I'm not sure really. When i've taken them as a hormone leveller i've taken one a day. I have a friend who goes a bit psychoticly pre-menstrual, and she takes higher doses but near the danger date.

peachypie · 28/04/2007 23:08

Mmm maybe i will try the evening primrose.
The best advice I can give LilyLoo is to find a quite place when kids are in bed away from Dp/Dh ie: the garden or living room if he has gone to bed and sit with some form of alcohol and try to relax and un-wind a little.
This helps me lots esp. after a few bottles of real ale.

TwirlyN · 28/04/2007 23:15

yes, yes, yes, yes.
Did you friggin hear me, I said YES.
although i have found, knowing how shitty i can be to DP and DC over the years, i now swear by magnesium OK. it seem to level me out and i sort of become a normalish woman that the family can talk to. It does take 2/3 months to kick in though. good luck, you'll find the right stuff eventually

harrisey · 29/04/2007 08:13

yes
My dh says I don't suffer from PMT but he does ....

PeachesMcLean · 29/04/2007 08:16

Another vote for Magnesium OK here as well. Evening Primrose didn't touch the sides in my case. And the good news from the McLean house is that M OK had noticeable effects within the first month. Wonderful stuff.

munz · 29/04/2007 08:19

oh yes! my poor DH, a few times i've been in tears telling him he doesn't love me and saying I should just leave him cos he's not done the washing up for me. AF has come a few days later.
