So my DH gave me a tablet for Xmas. As it is the same brand as his work phone ut has synched with it. Not had a chance to play with it yet but got it out today to see a work email pop up for him. The subject is ' HI' then it says 'My Beloved, Did you see my previous email I sent it 2 days back?' No sign off or anything. I was v shocked as this is totally out of the blue and he has only been at this company 2 months. At first I assumed it was spam. I screen shot it, forwarded it to my email ad and deleted it from all folders. I dont know if this was stupid but i replied to say Sorry I deleted ur in haste pls resend. Then I saw her email address does look like a legit one from this company. Could it still be spam/ a joke? I cant find her on fb or LinkedIn. Only as a dating coach in London!! What should I do?!

It does sound quite suspect

Angelf1sh · 30/12/2017 20:51

Reads like spam to me - nobody says beloved.

Gemini69 · 30/12/2017 20:52

you .. my lovely.. have the Bull by the Horns.... my suggestion to you .. is to reply with minimal detail.. and see what information you can find out without raising the alarm with your DH.... good luck Flowers

funnyfoursome · 30/12/2017 20:54

Thanks Gemini yes I was tempted to ask him straightaway but waiting now. Angelfish yes I agree Beloved is weird and there is nothing personal in the email I guess

yeah.. I suspect you will be able to sort this out without creating disharmony unnecessarily Flowers

Spangles7 · 30/12/2017 20:59

I signed up for a dating advice newsletter, it's just that type of " hey gorgeous, time is running out, did you see the offer I sent you last week?". Doesn't explain why he would sign up for dating advice, it is probably spam as a PP said.

Backtoblack1 · 30/12/2017 21:00

Spam

Liara · 30/12/2017 21:02

Sounds like spam to me too.

funnyfoursome · 30/12/2017 21:14

I apparently have thousands of hot asian women just waiting for me today Confused didnt I see the email they sent me just days before...

Sounds pretty spam like to me, unless hes signed up for an online forum with the user name "MyBeloved"

Jellybean85 · 30/12/2017 21:18

I singed up for a comp ages ago and receive random spam like this all the time. "My dear my last message, did you see t?" It does sound like spam. Specially if there is absolutely no social media. See if you get a reply

funnyfoursome · 30/12/2017 21:18

Ok thanks Im not from the corporate world so I just assumed big companies had better security eg re spam mail

SirGawain · 30/12/2017 21:19

Sounds like spam to me. I get lots of this sort of generalised stuff in my spam folder. I have shown some of them to LadyGawain so that she knows they are spam and not me conducting a covert correspondence.

starzig · 30/12/2017 21:19

My other half must think I am having multiple affairs with Russian women

TheNaze73 · 30/12/2017 21:20

Spam

NSEA · 30/12/2017 21:20

Reads like spam.

I would say beloved as a tongue in cheek way to someone who was ignoring me maybe. But not after knowing them at a company for 2 months.

SaltySeaBird · 30/12/2017 21:22

I’ve had emails to my work address saying hi my beloved recently. From my sexy Russian soulmate; she was very familiar in writing style. I have a lot of soulmates in Russia apparently.

Only I’m a straight married female. Who has asked IT to up the company spam filter!

MyBrilliantDisguise · 30/12/2017 21:23

I have never, ever received spam through work, though.

What is the sender's email address? If it's spam it'll be a completely rubbish address, like this one from my spam box.

[email protected]>

Skiiltan · 30/12/2017 21:26

"My Beloved, Did you see my previous email I sent it 2 days back?"

I have received scores of e-mails with those very words. They are scams trying to lure people into sending money to gangsters in return for a promise of funds from non-existent estates/frozen accounts/etc. No, it is not an affair.

And a tablet does not automatically sync with e-mail/Google/iTunes accounts because it's "the same brand as" someone's phone. It only syncs if you set up the apps with the existing account details.

Rubyroop · 30/12/2017 21:30

It reads very much like spam. Get them on my personal email all the time (in the spam folder) but nothing like that would ever get through our work e-mail filters

Babyblues052 · 30/12/2017 21:36

I wouldnt worry if I were you. Sounds like spam to me too and if you have no other reason to think affair if I'd draw a line under it Smile

funnyfoursome · 30/12/2017 21:49

It does actually look like a legit email.address ie [email protected]

MyBrilliantDisguise · 30/12/2017 21:54

And is that company name the same company that your husband works for?

MyBrilliantDisguise · 30/12/2017 21:54

And if so, does it follow the same pattern, eg initial and surname, or forename and surname?

NapQueen · 30/12/2017 21:56

It sounds like spam but I would google the company.
