Cannot stop online shopping -affecting my relationship

Every month I am buying shit online and spending hundreds and hundreds. I know I have a problem but can't seem to stop.
DH goes on about it all the time. We are financially well off but that doesn't alter the fact that every month I buy crap online for no reason.
It's like an itch I have to scratch Sad
I don't know where to start for help but to complicate things DHXW is an alcoholic and he spent their marriage trying to get her help and now if feels like I'm taking the place of 'problem wife'. It doesn't feel like there is much room for my issues. What can I do?

I have requested an appointment with the CBT counsellor so hopefully they can fit me in next week

Well done, OP. I really hope it helps you.

I am similar too op someone above mentioned selling and I list on eBay now to try and claw some money back it is grim esp when you see how little some of it sells for I currently have some £100 jeans listed with a £10 bid but I literally have no more room for stuff!

The things I found most helpful were going back to a retro phone rather than a smart phone so I couldn't just web browse on impulse.

Secondly, I made a vow to put the things I liked in my basket for 48 hours before purchasing. I could then buy them but only if I really still wanted them after this time. This seemed to take away the urge, as it still feels like shopping while you're doing it, but 2 days later is usually moved on to something else.

Good luck with it

I went through a shopping stage when I had depression, normally I rarely buy anything, for a while there I was getting things delivered almost every day...

I'm similar - particularly when I'm tired. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford it, but had a couple of months with a big car maintenance bill and some professional fees which knocked me a bit sideways so I felt I was not in control.

I've been putting together a spreadsheet showing key areas of spend.

Amazon is a bad one - lots of 0.99 or 1.99 purchases adds up quickly. Also App Store for the latest app which really will make me exercise or use every minute productively... seeing it on the spreadsheet was a real eye opener so I'm better placed to really think about what I'm spending rather than just saying it's only a little bit, it's fine when it adds up to a lot.
